Itās finally here ā”ļø Phase 2 of the Peak State lineup is live! This one hits close to home for me.

Weāve unearthed some insane local and regional talent for this next wave, and every artist on this lineup brings a different spark to the story weāre filming together. se Brede has been in the electronic music scene since the early Austin rave days, and the story of how Gravitas Records came to life is one you donāt want to miss.
In this episode we trace the roots of one of the most intentional independent labels in bass music, from throwing free park parties in Amarillo, to being in the room the night Skrillex played one of his first ever DJ sets, to building a label rooted in the Roman virtue of gravitas, meaning weight, meaning, and integrity.
Jesse talks about what he actually listens for in an artist beyond production quality, why staying small and intentional has always mattered more than chasing scale, and what it means to plant a flag bigger than yourself and invite others into it.
This one is for anyone building something real in the music world.

Iām excited to announce a new adventure. Iāll be releasing a podcast series called @architects_of_sound . This project is all about sitting down with people in the music industry who are creating and curating, intentional music, especially within the electronic music realm, and going deeper into who they are. Weāll be exploring their backgrounds, inspirations, creative processes, and what truly drives their sound, getting to know these artists on a more personal and human level.
Iām incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with everyone who has chosen to sit down with me and be part of these conversations. This reel is a small snippet from a podcast recorded today with @jesse.brede from @gravitasrecordings , and Iām really excited to start bringing these episodes together and sharing them with the people who resonate with this kind of dialogue. Looking forward to getting these conversations out into the world and connecting through music on a deeper level.
