🔙Departure date: November 1st 2019🔜 Outside my boyfriends apartment in China town where I have been camping out whilst I get ready to leave....
So many emotions rushing through me, feeling polarities simultaneously - confusion choking my mind and my heart as immense feelings of happiness excitement and joy surge through me as I embark on a journey of a lifetime; a dream becoming reality and the harrowing feeling that I am going to be alone; leaving a life I have made for myself - leaving my secure network, safety net and being able to get anything at the touch of a button; or a few streets from my home - now it will be me and the road - a small bag of clothes, tools and survival gear... into the unknown, into change into transition and into nature I shall go, leaning into the wind and whispering to the universe that I am free. ❤️ From now on the world shall be my home. 🌎
I shall now be posting on @jessie_jobst ... follow me there ♾

Haven’t posted since I moved back to NYC mostly cos I sold my adv bike and it’s taken me so long to get my old Honda running. Plus life and work etc etc.
BUT thanks to @matiascorea and @worksengineering I think it’s running the best it ever has.
The clutch starter is the last piece that needs replacing and then I can think about doing some fun stuff like… repainting the tank or… putting in an munit?? Changing the indicators and removing the tail light and seat mount.
Who else has a CB in the city or an old Honda?
I wanna start a vintage riding club!!
Let’s go!
🫶🏼🌃🇺🇸❤️🏍️🍂
For those asking:
I made the pants with @maria_dora they are so good, comfy and protective w/knee pads and reinforced front panels.
Jacket is vintage @daineseofficial
Halloween Hoodie is @onlineceramics
Boots @lewisleathers
Me and Betty my T7 at the beginning of @jocelinsnow training in her back yard of incredibly intimidating obstacles!
I have to say that I was presented with the opportunity to go and I definitely thought twice about it. I was scared. Scared of going alone, scared of camping in the back yard solo like a weirdo, scared of being the worst rider, scared of not knowing anyone, and most of all terrified of really hurting myself.
Of course these fears all disappeared by the time I was half way through the first day. We had such an excellent crew and the other riders are now all my friends :). Such an encouraging group, all helping each other learn… And I learned so much!
Jocelin is such a fantastic coach because she is who she is, physically we are comparable but I am 5 inches taller than her.. so she is living proof that riding my motorcycle over these obstacles is 100% possible. It’s just learning how. The way she coaches is extraordinary. It’s a lot of focussing on the mind. She is unique, a force and I am elated to have been lucky enough to attend one of her classes.
Swipe right for low moment after crashing many times in the sand, there were lots of tears in my helmet feeling very defeated — grateful for powerful words of encouragement in that moment, and completing the weekend not only unscathed but a much better rider!
Thank you for having me Jocelin & crew!

Wow another great moto weekend!! Thank you @aetherapparel for such a spectacular camp out — this will be an annual commitment for me from now on!
Initially I was uncertain about going as there are so few women attendees (especially those who ride) and my husband couldn’t make it — but thankfully the wonderful @livvonoelreich won a ticket and ended up showing up last min.
On Saturday I rode the off road route to big bear — which was exciting on my new T7. Got through the sand at the bottom of the trail no prob and then further along I clipped a burm that threw me off the trail pretty hard and Betty Blue had to be rescued by 5 guys (I didn’t really want to finish the ride after that) but I got back on and made it to the top!
Overall The whole event was really beautifully put together and the location being in pioneer town was perfect…especially as it was a full moon weekend!!!!! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
Thank you @revzilla + @rawhyde_adventures for making last weekend so good :)
Despite riding there solo and feeling pretty nervous about my new bike (how tall it is, new squirly tires, wobbly in the wind) — then getting a flat tire — I had the best time and met such great people and we got to camp and and ride in the desert wild flowers all weekend!! The best!!
🌸
Excited to go into this weekend for the @aetherapparel rally after bonding with my bike who I named — Betty Blue!
💙
Who’s else is going to Joshua Tree this weekend?

We’ve spent the last few weeks off the bikes and exploring Todos Santos and the surrounding area. Mostly Pescadero and Cerritos beach which are all within 20 minutes of one another along the western cape of Baja.
Apart from really resting in the sunshine and enjoying time off the bike and not in a tent — this was one of the coolest cultural things we saw. Tucked away down a side street this little museum is owned by an eccentric character who is clearly a hoarder and has spent his life collecting Mexican masks amongst other Mexican oddity’s. His father inspired his fascination as child and now he had collections that span from pre Hispanic eras to the present day — you can see the changes in deity throughout the ages and how the masks makers started using catholic depictions of angels and devils with the invasion of the Spanish.
It’s definitely worth the $50mx for entry into his ramshackle unfinished collection of wild and sometimes perturbing faces.

Punto Bufeo — the gulf of Baja on the Sea of Cortez.
We had a bit of a rocky start to Baja by absent mindedly forgetting to get our passports stamped - perhaps because Americans roam free here and you don’t need a permit for the bike and ...no one stops you at the border......!
So after camping along the 3, waking up with no service and riding all the way to San Felipe to turn around and go all the way back to Ensenada was a bit of a downer.
By Wednesday we were rearing to go & gunned it back across to the east coast to a secluded bay down a sandy track off the 1.
No one was around.. a few empty half built houses lined the beach but the bay was pristine and quiet— the waves lapped at the shoreline we felt triumphant as if we’d just discovered a long lost desert island.
After deliberating how far we could ride the bikes onto the beach without getting stuck in the loose sand vs the tides coming to the tent we pitched our home for the night and set about beach foraging.
One of my favourite things to do 🐚finding old drift wood to burn, taking slow steps along the shoreline and feeling the rounded edges of the weathered stones cast up from the ebb and flow of the ocean. The experience of being next to water is extremely calming — the sound, the energy, the innate pull that intrinsically draws oneself to submerge yourself within it. Soothing after the long hours of the engine vibrating & ricocheting throughout our bodies.
We got lost in the array of stars that night watching them shoot like fireflies across the thick velvet blanket of the infinity of twinkling lights over the bay, the call of the coyote echoed in the distance as the tide slowly crept back into the shore; the waves crashed with more intensity — waking us up abruptly & leaving us in a drowsy stupor wondering whether the next time we would be totally submerged in water.
The hypnosis of the waves lulled us back to sleep and we awoke to the retreat of the ocean far in the distance and the quiet that we had arrived to.

After spending a week in New Mexico with @fionabicknell resting up in Santa Fe and then old historic town La Mesilla we parted ways.
I went to meet @rorymulhere in West Texas, and Fiona carried on towards LA.
Having previously only rushed through Houston, Austin and Laredo last November I had missed Marfa in my haste and I’d always wanted to go.
I ran out of gas along a long stretch of road from El Paso to Von Horn — I was riding so fast that my tank only did 180miles rather than the usual 220 but luckily my spare tank was full and I was only 2 miles from the nearest gas station!
This was my first sunset, under the vast Texas sky... stained with pink and purple; the temperature quickly dropping from unbearably hot to freezing cold.
Although Marfa is much of a tourist destination it’s iconic land marks are worth visiting.
