installation views from my STAGES presentation "Mustertücher" on 11.09.2025 @hallefuerkunststeiermark in the context of the exhibitions of @louise___giovanelli and @evelynplaschg Mustertücher refers to textile samplers used for embroidery, as well as to their literal meaning – fabrics with patterns, in which repetitions and relational rules are used as a general system for creating the image. Before the painting process, I predefine a colours and rules. Therefore, it is mportant to remove the traditional illusionistic qualities, not to allow any mixing, and to leave only the volume and colour of the paint. During the painting process, I try to act more like an execution device or a printer – making as few decisions as possible and leaving some aspects of the process to the material and chance. i exhibited five works on fabric and an edition of 25 samples cut-out from earlier works, as well as an artist's book showing all the works in this series to date. © photos by wolfgang oeggl
