I made this video because I had a lot of people asking about this snare drum in my past videos. Well here she is. This started as an idea and had no idea what the final result was going to be. I’ve always coveted anything mahogany when it comes to drum shells so when I came across The Heritage Mahogany series from @nordicshells I knew that would be where this project began. It’s a 14x6 7ply shell made up of 5 inner ply of Poplar with 2 outer ribbon mahogany ply and maple re-rings. I also found a really cool dude by the name of Greg @champagnedrum1 who makes his own custom lugs to order. The hoops I ordered from sweetwater which are a newer hoop design called “S-Hoops” they are like if die cast and triple flange had a baby. Best of both worlds. But anywho here’s a video of some footage I had from when I was working on it. Did everything myself. Took my time with sanding and I’m a firm believer that when it comes to manufacturing anything, the more time and love put into it, the more the final product will stand out. Sometimes you can’t find that on an assembly line.
Happy birthday to my husband! He is the funniest, handsomest, sweetest, most creative, stylish, passionate, loving, loyal, supportive, inspiring person I know. He is an endless well of jokes, sarcasm and made up lyrics to my favorite songs. He is my favorite person and my very best friend. Life wouldn't be the same without him. Cheers to 36 ❤️
A little drum restoration for the soul on my custom made Breaker Boy drum kit. I built this kit about 15 years ago w/ @keystonebutcher and it has seen it all. So many hours of practice, recording and gigs and progress made!
Anyways @joschkaris and I took our sweet-asses to work on some repairs to damage and wear that happened over the last 15 years. I couldn’t be any happier with everything so now it’s time to see what the next 15 years have in store.
