I told myself to push my craft this year. That includes focus and patience. I believe this piece does a great job at expressing that very exercise as it is a somewhat different approach to my usual work. Super stoked how this idea worked out and came to life. I truly believe it is one of my favorite works yet!

This approach wasn’t chosen by the client but I had fun designing it and representing parts of Richmond, VA. They DID roll with a different design recently completed so be on the look out of that to be shared soon!

This design is alllll good vibes. Being alive in this world has enough challenges and just being you shouldn’t be one of them. Inspired by my partner always saying “I love being me” I chose to capture that energy and birth this design!

I love this piece! That love stems from embracing the freedom of art and expression. To create without any other means but the feeling driving you to do so. That was this piece. Starting out I only had drawn up half of the design and colored nothing but knew it shall be red. I wanted to leave space for open interpretation and creation similar to how I often created in my earliest days as an artist. I am happy to continue creating more and more in the vein of freedom! This is how I like to create, this is my style, this is my vibe and this is ‘Rouge.’

‘All In’ Art Show Came Out of Nowhere, and That’s Still The Vibe
It started in a living room. Not a gallery, not a venue — just the house of Richmond artist Jered Fykes. A few friends hung their work on the walls, invited people over, and had a good time. Honestly, that’s how most real art scenes begin.
That was back in 2018.
Now, it’s a little more organized. The All In Art Show returns for its fourth round this Saturday, June 14, turning a corner of Scott’s Addition into a full-on art hang — complete with a killer soundtrack.
