Lactate testing day with @jeromevervaet 🥵 Being able to track the progress on a local climb with a good friend, fueled by caffeine and big goals does make it almost sound nice isn’t it? Luckily my coach put in a surprise. After a ‘classic’ 8’/+20W per block ramp test I got to do an all out 5’ fatigued test, which turned out to be an all time PB! Big SO to @wattsupcoaching for the great couple of months already & Jerome for waiting for me on Els Angels today until I was finally ready destroying myself. To everyone who’s interested in knowing and tracking what they’re actually training, you know where to find this humble guy :) #cycling #training #testday #lactatetest #girona

. An important race or event coming up? Flush massages apply light pressure and rapid motion to prepare the legs to fire from all cylinders. The goal is to: ~ Stimulate circulation ~ Clear any residual waste products ~ Improve performance Either the day before or the day of a race/event would be the perfect moment for this type of massage.

. Tired legs after a heavy training block or race? Recovery massages use relatively slow and deep techniques to help speed up recovery. The goal is to: ~ Clear metabolic waste products ~ Reduce muscular tension ~ Accelerate muscle repair This type of massage is an excellent addition to sufficient rest, quality sleep and a healthy, well-balanced diet to achieve optimal recovery.

. Experiencing pain or tightness in certain areas? A deep tissue massage uses high pressure and stretching techniques to release tension in (and between) muscles and connective tissue. The goal is to: ~ Relieve pain and discomfort ~ Prevent injury or speed up recovery ~ Increase performance It is common to feel somewhat sore after a deep tissue massage. Therefore, it is ideally followed by a short (relative) rest period.
