Meet the 22nd rider on our squad, Jess Munton โ
@byron_munton โs little sister.
In January 2024, Jessie and her entire family were packed up and getting ready to move to Girona to join Byron, excited to chase her dream of becoming a professional cyclist. But on January 14th, while out on a training ride ahead of the South African National Championships, Jessie was struck from behind by an intoxicated driver.
Jess has kept fighting, for her life in the ICU, and every single day through rehab since. The Munton family has now completed their move to Girona, where sheโs receiving specialized care at
@somhirehab , a pioneering neurological rehabilitation center that focuses on intensive, individualized therapy for people recovering from severe brain injuries.
Her recovery relies not only on expert clinical care, but also on access to highly specialized equipment and technology designed to support neurological recoveryโฆ all of which comes with significant ongoing costs.
