In case you missed it, Iām currently cancer free! Itās weird posting this on the day that Iām about to start another round of treatment - but this time, itās preventative treatment.
Being told I am currently cancer-free was an incredible feeling, and one I donāt take that lightly for a second. I know how much of that comes down to science, early detection, and the incredible people who show up to do the work every single day.
So I just want to say thank you - to the doctors, nurses, surgeons, techs, researchers, and yes even the janitors who keep those spaces running with care and dignity. You donāt always get the spotlight, but you absolutely deserve it.
If youāre in the middle of treatment right now, Iām thinking about you. Iām rooting for you. And I hope youāre getting the same kind of care and humanity Iāve been lucky enough to receive.
One step at a time. š¤
So my dad diedā¦
Zero stars.
Do not recommend.
Two things about my dad: he hated waiting in line, and he loved a good plot twist. Well played Dad, impeccable timing.
I want to thank the incredible staff at Lions Gate Hospital - especially our nurse Emily and Dr. Douglas - who treated him and our family with such deep compassion and care.
As Mr. Rogers said, āLook for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.ā My dad spent years working on the front lines, so it meant everything to see a helper be helped in such a beautiful way.
My dad was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me, he was my North Star.
I am who I am because of him.
I feel lost without him, so I am going to take some time away to grieve with my family, and maybe drive his cars a little too fast, blast his favourite John Denver songs a little too loud and try to find some of that infectious joy he carried with him everywhere.
I love you, Dad. Thank you for giving me this wonderful life. I promise weāll take good care of mom for you. ā¤ļø
Due to a family emergency, we are canceling our upcoming Boston show and Harvard book event for this weekend.
All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
While we understand many of you have waited a long time for these events, we simply have to put our family first.
Weāre so sorry for the disappointment and truly appreciate your understanding.
Darcy & Jer
Had such a great day helping @woofability_servicedogs train their service dogs during our sound check and as an extra bonus we got to help socialize their newest babies š„¹

When you have the best job šš¾
Spending the day training dogs backstage⦠and finishing with a sound check show of Average at Best with Darcy & Jer.
Weāre so grateful for these experiences and the opportunities they create for our dogs and teams ⨠And Happy Birthday @thedarcymichael
Donāt worry heās not dead - itās his birthday!
This year, more than ever, I want to celebrate Darcy! Happiest birthdays to my favourite human.
I donāt even know where to begin with everything heās carried this past year. He didnāt just show up - he held everything together.
And yes, this might hurt his street cred a little, but the truth is - he works harder than anyone I know. He finished writing his book (and casually made it a bestseller), took care of me, filmed Scrubs, and still found the time and energy to write Average at Best for us to perform. It honestly blows me away.
But what amazes me most isnāt just everything he does - itās how he does it. No matter what life throws at us, he faces it head-on, with strength, resilience, and somehow still manages to make everyone around him laugh and smile.
I am so incredibly lucky to walk through life with him.
Happy Birthday, babe. I love you endlessly.
