Honouring Mango 💛 Mango was more than a service dog, she was a partner, a constant, and a source of support every single day. At just 19 months old, and only three weeks after certifying, Mango passed away unexpectedly. Her loss is profound. We are coming together as a community to support what comes next, when the time is right. This fundraiser will go toward: ✨ Future service dog training ✨ Finding the right partner ✨ Supporting the journey forward All funds are being held through the @pawsabilities_society If you are able to donate, share, or support in any way, it truly means everything. 🔗 Link in bio In honour of Mango, and the impact she made 🥭💛

Mobility tasks in service dogs is about adaptability. Teaching a dog to remove their own vest supports real-world independence, reduces physical strain for the handler. Tasks like this support independence and adaptability, allowing service dogs to assist in ways that are tailored to each handler’s unique needs and daily life. This kind of training is about meeting real needs in real moments. #woofabilityservicedogs #mobilityservicedog #servicedogtasks

Holding a touch for duration might look simple, but it’s one of the most important foundation skills in service dog training. This single skill becomes the foundation for so many service dog tasks, including reliable retrieval delivery, opening and closing doors, turning lights on and off, pushing or targeting objects, medical alert behaviours, and more. When these foundations are strong, complex task work can be built, with much more precision and consistency. #woofabilityservicedogtraining #servicedogtraining

Thank you so much ❤️ “ Our family wanted to take an opportunity to thank each one of you for participating in Tai’s return to the service partnership journey through this fundraising campaign. We can never replace Mango. We miss her desperately. Tai takes her with him in every next step he takes. She was joy, she was dedication; she was magic. She was his partner in life and he was her partner in love. Mango gave Tai many gifts and one of the unexpected gifts was that of community. From Woofability’s talented team leading with a philosophy of inclusion to their many aligned business relations and the beautiful souls of the many other Handlers and their fluffy partners. The service community fiercely supports and advocates for each other and we are so blessed to see Tai enveloped in this collective. To all those who gave, shared or reached out - we humbly and sincerely thank you.”

We spend most of our days working backwards. A dog that learned somewhere along the way that people aren’t safe, that new places mean something bad is coming. That’s our normal and it’s incredibly rewarding work that we love deeply. However, these four had no idea that a traumatic or violating experience was even an option. And that was a beautiful thing to witness. We’ve been volunteering with @woofability_servicedogs for a while now because we believe deeply in what they do. These dogs will go on to: ✨Detect changes in cortisol before a panic attack hits ✨ Alert to blood sugar drops ✨Ground someone in the middle of a PTSD episode ✨Give someone their independence back in ways that are hard to put into words. Their capabilities are truly hard to wrap your mind around. But that’s not even the most special part. It’s the relationship. The way a service dog and their person need each other so completely and so equally. The dog has structure, accountability, purpose. And in return they get everything, a big, full, meaningful life. To be needed. To have their full capacity considered and utilized. To work alongside a human toward something that really, truly matters. It is one of the most incredible relationships a human and a dog can have. That’s what drew us to this work. And it’s why supporting @woofability_servicedogs and supporting the dogs they’re building is truly an honour. These pups have people counting on them. We’re just glad to be a small part of their story. 🫶🏻 • • • • • #servicedogs #servicedogpuppy #servicedogtraining #blacklab #fearfreegrooming

🐾 Looking for a Forever Home 🐾 Meet Juno, a beautiful 1-year-old black Lab looking for her next chapter 💜 Due to unforeseen circumstances, Juno is no longer able to stay with her previous family. This decision has not been taken lightly, and our goal is to find her a home where she can truly thrive. Please note: Juno is not from our breeding program. Juno is: ✔️ Spayed and fully up to date on vaccinations ✔️ Social and friendly with people and other dogs ✔️ A typical adolescent Lab, full of energy and enthusiasm ✔️ Started in training, with a solid foundation and some good obedience skills She has: 🐕 Good recall 🐕 Good leash skills, with continued practice recommended to further develop consistency 🐕 A very friendly nature, though she can be a little enthusiastic at times What Juno needs: Juno would do best in an active home that understands the needs of a young Labrador. A family who enjoys being outdoors, walking, hiking, or has space for her to run and decompress would be ideal. Continued training, structure, and guidance will help her mature into a well-balanced adult. At this time, we would recommend a home without very young children, simply due to her energy level and excitement. Juno has so much potential and just needs the right environment to shine. With the right support, she will make an incredibly loyal, fun, and loving companion. If you feel you could be the right fit for Juno, please reach out to us directly to learn more. Please share to help Juno find her perfect home 🐾

Huge congratulations to Team Diestro 💛🐾 This week they passed their BC Guide and Service Dog certification, an incredible achievement. We are so proud of this team and all the hard work, consistency, and dedication they’ve put into their training. Training a service dog, from task work to public access, takes time, patience, and commitment, and this team truly rose to the challenge. They absolutely rocked it ✨

Some of the most important service dog skills are the quiet ones. Learning to settle calmly in environments like doctor’s appointments helps dogs support their handlers without adding stress or distraction. This kind of work takes time, consistency, and thoughtful exposure, but it’s what allows dogs to be truly reliable in real life.

Time to spread some joy 💜🐾 And what better way than with puppy yoga! A huge thank you to everyone at @saanparksreccoms , to Elizabeth for generously giving her time as our instructor, and to all the participants who joined us for such a fun and special experience. The puppies had an absolute blast, and we hope you all did too! We were able to run two classes, and we’re so grateful to share that all funds raised go to @pawsabilities_society , supporting future service dog training. Such a wonderful day of connection, community, and puppy joy

With the heaviest hearts, we share the loss of a very special girl 💛🥭🌀🐾 This week we said goodbye to our sweet, full-of-life Mango Hurricane, who brought both sweetness and strength into every moment. She had just certified and stepped into her full working role with Tai, who had known and loved her since she was just 12 weeks old. From the very beginning, it was clear. Mango chose her person, and she never once looked back. She was an overachiever in every sense. Always ready to learn, always wanting to do more, always giving everything she had. And at the same time, she was the one curled up beside you, stealing your pillow and leaning in for one more cuddle. Mango was loved in a way that words will never quite capture. She was matched with a family who gave her everything, and we will always be grateful for the life and love they shared with her. True to her name, she was both gentle and powerful, full of love, determination, and heart. And she gave all of that, right until the very end. Her family made the most difficult decision, far too soon. We were honoured to be there with them, by her side, in her final days. In her short life, Mango changed so many lives. She made an impact that cannot be measured by time. She was, and always will be, a hero. Right now, we are taking time as a team, and alongside her family, to grieve and be together. We will be in touch with everyone soon. If you can, please hold Mango’s family in your thoughts and surround them with love during this incredibly difficult time. Run free, sweet girl. It was a privilege to walk alongside you, and we are forever grateful for everything you gave 💛🥭🌀
