Miss today’s event? No stress. History didn’t go anywhere! You can still step inside this Philly FIRST at the Fireman’s Hall Museum (
@firemanshall ).
Founded in 1763 by Benjamin Franklin, America’s first fire company began here—igniting a nationwide legacy of public service that still shapes communities today.
This ONE, created by
@jennprocacci , honors that history through public art. Jenn Procacci is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work spans mural-making, painting, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. A longtime collaborator with Mural Arts Philadelphia, she believes deeply in art’s power to activate communities and break down barriers to creative expression.
About the sculpture:
Developed in collaboration with the Fireman’s Hall Museum, the piece weaves together maps of 1700s Philadelphia, excerpts from History of Philadelphia, 1609–1884 (1884), and imagery of original firefighting equipment while layering art, history, and civic pride into one powerful experience.
A reminder that some of America’s biggest ideas started right here. Visiting the Fireman’s Hall Museum is FREE, give a donation if you’d like!
