Weeeelll, it is now exactly one week until our new album The Sorry Window is out and we are so excited for you to hear it! Many of the songs on the album began by me recording on my own in a room, which was then expanded by Josh recording bass, which was then expanded exponentially by working with our producer Luke and getting to go to The Church Studios to finish everything all together (over the course of several sessions over a number of years). It has been a pretty unique process really. Without giving too much away, or showing too much of the ‘studio in-joke’ type level of video that all sessions inevitably descend into due to being in a confined space for too long, here are a few snippets from the recording of the album. Last year @thehyenakill were kind enough to ask whether I’d be up for collaborating on Porcelain, a track from their new album Collapse (which is out today and is brilliant). The track completely floored me when I first got to hear it, and so I recorded some vocals and guitar and sent them over. Everyone was really nice and much of what I did made it onto the final track (with a far superior mix by @greaves_alex than you’ll hear in my video here). I recently remembered that I’d recorded myself tracking (as a bit of an afterthought really - as my appearance and the amount of bin bags present in the shots will attest to), which you can see a bit of in the second video (At the time I’d thought my vocals were questionable, not the track itself). The guitar ‘solo’ is actually several tracks / octaves stacked together, all through a @laneyamplification Lionheart L20T-212 with various delay / fuzz / octave effects 🤓. I want to say such a massive thanks to all at The Hyena Kill and especially Ste for letting me be a part of such an emotionally important, cathartic and hard hitting record. It’s now been a whole year since my dramatic knee episode (I fractured / dislocated it on day 3 of a 26 day holiday). Things I have learned: - Never take risks - People are very nice and helpful 💙 - Never go anywhere without travel insurance - Putting on socks when you can’t bend your knee is basically impossible - The American healthcare system is bizarre - Being able to walk normally is incredible Just about fully recovered from it now thankfully but what a time.

Seoul (again) 🇰🇷, Myeongdong View from the hotel roof, Jogabi Seafood bar, Ace 4 Club, Korean War Memorial, Namsan Mountain, Bibimbap, Jungsik, Zest, Gyeongbokgung Palace then finally flying home (in First Class 💅🥂, once again I cannot recommend getting travel insurance enough). Jeju Island 🇰🇷 Stayed at Gwakji Beach. Went to Seongsan Ilchulbong, Hamdeok Beach, Hyeopjae / Geumneung Beach, Geumneung Banjiha (beach bar) and 우미노식탁 (Sashimi). Not pictured, Cafe Taehee Fish and Chips, the 3D print song, BHC chicken and more KBBQ
