FYI, Chris originally wrote this drum part and played it on the version you hear on the album (which we recorded waaayyy back during the Brainfreeze sessions!), so here I am doing my best Chris impression which I hope is up to scratch. Just found out that The Sorry Window is number 52 in the official UK download chart! Which is something we never thought could be possible (hence why we only just found out), and especially amazing as we’ve never been in the chart before. Thanks everyone for making our dreams come true!!!! 🥹

The Sorry Window has been out for an entire week! To say we’ve been surprised by the response to our DIY release is a huge understatement. Seeing people listen to it, share it, buy it, say nice things about the songs and videos, or discover the band for the first time over the last couple of weeks has been absolutely incredible, and we want to say a massive thank you - especially to everyone who has stuck with us over the last five or so years of us trying to get to this point. We said that if there was any demand for more following the album, then we’d do our best to make it happen.. We still have a bunch of live stuff from the album to put out, and we’ll be sending out the vinyl in a few weeks, but do keep your eyes peeled for new things hopefully being announced in the future too :) x

Surprise, here is a music video for ‘Narrow’, the first song on our new album The Sorry Window (find the link via YouTube / in our stories!) I filmed it on my own (apart from the moving shot towards the end) it back in 2021 during the earlier stages of the recording of our album, when I was working a lot on my own remotely with our producer Luke. I’d imagined it originally as the first thing we would share from the record when it was finally finished, which is probably why there’s a window that opens at the beginning haha. In the end it didn’t quite make sense to release things in that order, but I hope this gives you a bit of insight into the vibe of the making of the album! Track Guide: False Advertising (@falseads ) - The Sorry Window Six years in the making. False Advertising’s second album ‘The Sorry Window’ is finally here. What started as EP ideas in early 2020 was derailed by COVID before eventually evolving into something far bigger. Built from isolated home demos by lead songwriter Jen Hingley and bassist Josh Sellers, and shaped with producer Luke Pickering, the Manchester duo have delivered a record of real sonic and emotional depth. From the gritty fuzz of ‘Don’t Ask Me’ to the hook-laden ‘Acid Rain’ and the sharp indie punch of the title track, it’s a dynamic listen.
