Happy 55th wedding anniversary Mum & Dad! Thanks for raising us VanLife before it was a fad 😜 Congratulations on this big milestone... apparently the years since 1971 have flown! Married at 23 and 24 years young! Lovers of kombis with a green thumb 🚎 ☮️ 🧑‍🌾 👩‍🌾 Here’s to two young teachers who met first year out on the far north coast - now 55 years married and subject of their baby’s latest rhyming post 😛 PLEASE take note they were already married for 15.5 years before I was born!! Not that there’s anything wrong with getting old - it’s what we should all embrace; it’s GOLD and when the greatest stories are told xxx 🥰 xxx Here’s to Mum-Moose & TerryDactyl / TerryDADcool 🫎 🦅 ❤️ Very proud to have recreated Uncle John’s 1971 wedding photography a few years ago - a classic pose that can’t be beat - sitting in the garden on the same stone seat 😁 #55yearsmarried #GoldenOldies #LivinInThe70s Jill Terry Pigott Laura Piñata Ben Pigott

The Coloured Diggers March is happening in Redfern today - one of the greatest events on the Sydney calendar in my view! Come along if you’re in the area - we’d love to see you! Details for today’s event: Everyone is welcome to join this event commemorating the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who served Australia in armed conflicts overseas. This year’s theme is ‘Defending Country across ancient oceans’. Saturday 25 April 11:30am to 3:30pm Free event - all welcome. Redfern Community Centre and Redfern Park From 11:30am - Serving Country photography exhibition by Belinda Mason 12pm - Flag raising ceremony 1pm- Welcome and speeches 1:45pm - March from Redfern Community Centre to Redfern Park Background info: The name of The Coloured Digger’s March was inspired by Bert Beros’s poetic tribute to Indigenous Servicemen. Beros, a non-Indigenous Sapper, wrote The Coloured Digger during WW2 in PNG. He was inspired by Indigenous Private Harold West who, together with his childhood friend and fellow Indigenous Digger Private George Leonard, fought and died on the Kokoda Trail. These young Indigenous men voluntarily enlisted to defend Australia despite being denied basic rights of citizenship. Beros’s poem was musically adapted by Warren ‘Pig’ Morgan. Lead vocals sung by John Paul Young OAM and harmonica played by Private West’s nephew, the late Les Beckett. It was an honour editing the music video for this song which you can view here: /watch?v=3BPyQ_wLp_I&feature=youtu.be I was introduced to the story as a volunteer filmmaker for the Kokoda Aboriginal Servicemen’s Campaign (KASC). It has connected me to great people including those involved in the song and remarkable Indigenous men Pastor Raymond Minniecon and Warrant Officer Class One (Uncle) Col Watego OAM (Retired) - both pictured below. Pastor Ray was instrumental establishing The Coloured Diggers March and Uncle Col is the founder of TRYP which stands for “To Reach Your Potential” - empowering youth through military-inspired boot camps. I have had the privilege of documenting some of these and am working on editing a showcase of TRYP’s powerful work.

Tune into channel 7 now (7pm on Friday 24 April) Better Homes and Gardens is doing a segment on the wonderful Reg Chard OAM - 102 year old Kokoda veteran. Sharing a pic with 7 News Reporter Sarah Andaloro and Reg at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway last year. Reg will be 103 in October! Most amazing man. Looking forward to catching up on 7plus! Currently on the ferry home after the spectacular Lest We Forget Sunset Tribute on the Sydney Opera House forecourt 💚💛

Proud to attend the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway #anzacday service. A powerful morning of remembrance, with an address by General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK AC (Mil) CVO MC (Retired). It was a privilege to relay how moved I was by his acknowledgment of Indigenous service, & share a little about my film honouring Indigenous Diggers in the Kokoda campaign (link in bio). It was an honour meeting Sir Peter & Lady Lynne Cosgrove at this sacred place, as well as Alice Kang OAM (founding member of the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway board). Also great catching up with WO2 Jeremy Lowe from the Sydney University Regiment, Pauline Digges James (State Coordinator RSL Auxiliaries, RSL NSW Auxiliaries) & Anthony McCarthy (Artistic Director & CEO of the Australian Remembrance Foundation which is presenting the magnificent Lest We Forget Sunset Tribute on the Opera House forecourt this Friday in association with RSL NSW). The Walkway is a peaceful memorial with lush, tropical vegetation complementing the insights you gain into the Pacific campaigns at the informative plaques. The scenery transports you, but the tranquillity contrasts starkly with the brutal conditions endured by those who fought in PNG, including my Granddad Corporal Brian Pigott VX 91923 whose medals I wore. I ended the day at my local @harborddiggers Club, enjoying a delicious meal at Teddy Larkin’s - named after a great WW1 Digger who, after becoming the 1st Labor MP elected from the north side of Sydney Harbour, enlisted in the Army (within 10 days of war being declared in 1914) saying “I cannot engage in the work of recruiting & urge others to enlist unless I do so myself”. He was the member for Willoughby in the NSW Legislative Assembly from December 1913 until his untimely death on 25 April 1915. After being mortally wounded on that fateful 1st day at Gallipoli, he reportedly waved on stretcher bearers coming to collect him saying, “There’s plenty worse than me out there”. #LestWeForget. Praise to our memorials, clubs, venues & people committed to honouring legacies of Sacrifice - & to all who Serve. #Kokoda #Veterans #adf

⸻ On Thursday 19 Feb, I attended a beautiful community event at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick 💙 Organised by WO2 Jeremy Lowe (Sydney University Regiment) & Warren Crotty (Paddington-Woollahra RSL), the day was all about lifting the spirits of kids undergoing cancer treatment, their families, and acknowledging the incredible frontline health workers who care for them every day. There was a free BBQ cooked up by current serving #Defence Members & #BlueWiggle Anthony Field AM- who also played super fun live music! Very blessed to have a wonderful WO2 in Army Greens introduce me to the Blue Wiggle (who also once wore Army Greens)! Anthony served in the Royal Australian Regiment before founding The Wiggles with Murray Cook, Greg Page & Jeff Fatt in 1991… I was 5 then which makes me proudly part of the original Wiggles kid generation 🙋🏼‍♀️💛 Here’s to Service to Country, kids, art & humanity & to community spirit & charity. Shoutout to the incredible Starlight Children's Foundation for bringing smiles through face painting & fun! My magical unicorn face-paint was number 1! Red to match the poppies on my shirt & perfect for this year of the FIRE Horse🔥🦄 It was wonderful meeting current Serving Members of Defence including Indigenous WO2 Lachlan Youll who played the Yidaki. Also loved catching up with Uncle Michael Ali OAM from Helensburgh RSL & connecting with Paddington Woollahra RSL Sub-Branch President Jacqui McDonald & Hon Secretary Geoff Wainwright. It was also great to meet WO2 Terry Farley from Malaba RSL who’s also the Chief Superintendent at Fire and Rescue NSW & Director of the Fire + Rescue NSW Sports Association. Many thanks again Jeremy for inviting me to this event. A great day in great company spent! So many wonderful people of Service coming together to lift spirits & support kids, families & our amazing health workers. 💙 If you’d like to support the incredible work at #SydneyChildrensHospitalRandwick & across the SydneyChildrensHospitalsNetwork, the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation is the exclusive fundraising partner that supports this comprehensive network of vital care: .au/ #adf #service

Hidden for years- carved lettering D U K E With a healthy dose of skepticism Tom @pohatu joined FSLSC history caretaker, Eric, to examine the board for authenticity. There have been many claims of a Duke board around the world but most turn out to be replicas. With a Masters degree in the field, Tom consults around the world with museums, galleries and historic displays on the cultural aspects and authenticity of artefacts. He is the expert to determine the truth. Following the wood grain, ignoring the decorative redressing and repairs that had occurred over 100+years, Tom’s delight was contagious- the moment of realisation that beneath the polish, varnish and sanding over the years there is carved lettering D U K E “Killaz” from Tom and a quiet f-bmb heard in the room as those familiar with the board saw for the first time where the shadow of the lettering lay hidden. A magic moment to witness. Authenticity confirmed by the expert. @gohawaiiau @hawaiianairlines @kiigirl @naomid_surfnome @nomesnay @myseekingwanderlust @jemmapigott

The Australian debut of my self-funded film Connected By Sea was a full-house success 🌊💚 Screening it at my local @harborddiggers Club for @dukes.day was simply the best. Honoured to dedicate the screening to the late great surf filmmaker @jackmccoyfilms , who mentored me during production & always told me to “tell the story, girl!” 💫 Jack wrote a reference for my successful application to 7 x World Surf Champ @laynebeachley AO’s Aim For The Stars Foundation, connecting me to a sisSTARhood of support & inspiration. Layne - thank you for coming to my Connected by Sea Aussie debut. Watching it beside you & @kirkpengilly_official was incredibly special. I’ll never forget your support as I fell apart watching Jack’s interview — so grateful he connected me to you, & for your words that he was our conduit too 🥰🌊🎥 Many thanks to Duke’s Day & supporters including @gohawaiiau , @hawaiianairlines (loved connecting with @heatherjet ) & Harbord Diggers Club (thank you Evan Minus & your great team) - loved spending Friday around your awesome venue. Beautiful Lei draping of the #Freshwater #DukeKahanamoku statue, Welcome to Country by Uncle Brendan Kerin & speech by Northern Beaches Mayor @sueheins_ 🌺 Hawaiian Airlines Serenaders & dancers opened the evening & Hawaiian board shaper, cultural practitioner & Waterman Tom Pōhaku Stone shared wonderful words after the films 💫 Much love to @katherine_vavahea , proud Indigenous Pasifika creative I met at Jack’s Celebration of Life, for the exquisite floral garland & shell necklaces — & the pink flower Layne wore in her hair 🌸 Great to connect with @thewaxhead too - Thanks for your wonderful words about my film! To the Wonder Women behind Duke’s Day (@naomid_surfnome , @nomesnay & Nene) thank you for encouraging me to bring my stories to the screen 🙏🌺 Connected by Sea honours Duke, Isabel Letham & Olympian/Digger Cecil Healy who sadly lost his life in WWI. Honoured to have several Veterans at my screening including Legatee Tim Becker & Lt Col @karl.delaney.mcgrath (Vice President, Harbord RSL Sub-Branch). The connection between Sydney’s Freshwater Beach and Hawaiʻi’s Waikīkī was instigated through a powerful display of good sportsmanship, sparking a friendship and an iconic surfing display, and remains today bound in deep respect and love of our oceans. 🏄‍♂️ Join us Friday 9 Jan 2026 @harborddiggers 💚 screening by local filmmaker, Jemma Piggot A story of our communities united by their love for Duke. It is a tale of two lands, one sea, and one man’s legacy. The film also touches on Duke’s connections to Olympian and WW1 Digger Cecil Healy and aquatic trailblazer Isabel Letham. 💚Followed by WATERMAN which if you have not yet seen it, you must! WATERMAN shares Duke’s courage, humility, and global impact, reminding us why his legacy still resonates deeply today. 💚 the film features the insight and cultural knowledge of Tom Pōhaku Stone, a traditional Hawaiian board shaper, cultural practitioner and respected Waterman. Tom will be with us for a yarn and Q&A With oceans of gratitude to #gohawaiiau #hawaiianairlines

Great day at the Festival of Aviation & Corporate Travel Summits | FACTS at the @International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney)! It’s Australia’s biggest annual gathering of corporate travel, meetings and events, travel technology and aviation professionals. Loved aSISting my amazing siSTAR @staceycopas of #AcademyOfResilience at this event! She’s aSISted me with so many things too - blessed 7 times world surfing champ @laynebeachley connected me to you! If anyone is looking for a mindset reset and training your brain to be more resilient I can’t recommend Stacey enough! Left a quadriplegic and needing a wheelchair after a devastating accident when she was 12, she did not let this tragic accident slow her down. She’s been dubbed the “Queen of Resilience” by Layne herself and a “badass” by none other than retired United States Navy SEAL, motivational speaker and International Sports Hall of Fame inductee #DavidGoggins! She’s the one who, whilst I was assisting her on a work trip to Adelaide, assisted me to get my film clip created for The Coloured Digger song!! She gave me strategies to focus and finish something I was SO passionate about… and it totally changed my life! Link to view my film clip is in my bio and here: https://youtu.be/3BPyQ_wLp_I Love all our adventures across #Australia and this latest one too. Very grateful to our #AimForTheStars #sisSTARhood for connecting me to you. Loved connecting with lots of amazing people at this event too! Lots of interesting sessions, delicious food and beverages and wonderful networking opportunities. Thank you FACTS for an amazing day! …and thank you ICC for having so many great Aussie artworks on display! Loved beholding works by #LongJackPhillipusTjakamarra #BrettWhitely #KenDone and many more!💚💛 🎨🖌️ #AcademyOfResilience #Resilience #Aviation #CorporateTravel #FACTS #ICC #Sydney #Networking
