Been wanting a set of tube lights for a while, as a dedicated cheapskate I had to make some myself Cob LEDs strapped to wooden strips, with XLR connectors soldered onto each end. All connected by custom cables, and run from an ESP32 so I can control live from my laptop. Rough n ready but only £100 spent 💸 😮‍💨 Clips from @patternspresents_ tenth step a couple weeks ago, and Headmistress opening party back in November (@juliagilmour08 ) Brilliant music from: @peopledrift @mammo.works @katieshannon23 @jonrust_

My final project is on display at the GSA degree show! I’ve been looking at how we can better connect ourselves to the climate crisis. The project outcome is a mechanical installation that focuses on a single statistic: 1.15 metres/day. This is the global average velocity of climate change, which means that in the northern hemisphere we have to move 1.15 metres north every single day to experience the same temperature as yesterday. The installation is formed by a series of household objects rebuilt to move at this speed, reflecting the pace of climate change within your home: relentless, disruptive, and slow enough to pretend that nothing is happening. These photos show the installation progressing over the last four days. I’ve just reset everything and it’ll be on for the rest of the week, top floor of the Reid building! Will share more project/process details soon. Find it online at: /jem-mitchell/ https://oneonefive.cargo.site/

This is the Glide Tray which I've designed for my recent project at the GSA. It's cast in bismuth, a heavy and crystalline metal. Each piece required seven stages of finishing to achieve the final surface. The casting process produces natural flaws which have been preserved to make every tray unique. Product and packaging both handmade by me! Limited amount up for sale this Friday - GSA Reid Building, 5-8pm
