I agreed to revamp this wall if I had full creative freedom and could keep the same energy honoring another African American hero/heroes of the Civil Rights Movement right here in Greensboro. Thanks Stu for the opportunity.

**Joseph Alfred McNeil (1942-2025) was an American civil rights activist best known as one of the Greensboro Four, the group of black college students who launched the 1960 Woolworth’s lunch counter sit-ins in Greensboro, North Carolina. While a student at North Carolina A&T State University, McNeil and his peers peacefully challenged racial segregation, sparking a wave of nonviolent protests that helped dismantle Jim Crow practices across the South. After college, McNeil served for many years in the U.S. Air Force and later continued a career in public service, remaining an enduring symbol of student-led activism and nonviolent resistance in the Civil Rights Movement. Also shown is an iconic image of the Greensboro Four during the sit in -A&T freshmen students-Ezell Blair, Jr. (Jibreel Khazan), Franklin McCain and David Richmond. Quote from Joseph McNeil.
