It was 2 years ago today that we had to say goodbye to our dear Ripley, at 16 and 1/2 years old, her journey was complete. The most magical of pups, she had to wait for almost 4 years for @jeffphermannagram and I to find her thanks to @pasadenahumane -Sheâd been in 2 homes and surrendered to 2 shelters before we brought her home for good. There has not been a single day since her passing, where we donât think of her, remember her, laugh about her confident and hysterical personality and endlessly fight back tears that sheâs no longer here. Jeff and I often say to one another, that giving her the beautiful and joyous life she deserved will always be the thing weâre most proud of. She taught us that there is joy to be found in each moment of every day if weâre just patient enough and open enough to see it. #jeffdarrenandripley #adoptdontshopâ¤ď¸ #ilovemyrescuedog #ripleysdaddies #cotondetulĂŠar
Happy Birthday Maren Morris @marenmorris â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸
An eclectic and versatile singer-songwriter with a hybrid blend of musical influencesâfrom country to R&B, Rap, hip-hop and rockâshe is also a passionate advocate and one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people I know.
Marenâs songs are deeply personal, her voice soulful and her musical style is distinctly her own. Working with her on @thewildrobot was one of the great joys of that project. My favorite song from the film, âEven When Iâm Notâ which is about Rozâs relationship with Brigthbill and how the power of love echoes across any distance, was actually written as a love letter to Marenâs own son. And if you havenât heard her latest album, DREAMSICLE, do yourself a favor and give it a spin - every song is a knockout.
My Top 10 (plus one) favorite Maren Morris songs:
Even When Iâm Not - THE WILD ROBOT
Carry Me Through - DREAMSICLE
The Middle - (Single)
Kiss the Sky - THE WILD ROBOT
I Hope I Never Fall in Love - DREAMSICLE
My Church - HERO
Lemonade - DREAMSICLE
Too Good - DREAMSICLE
Dreamsicle - DREAMSICLE
Push Me Over - DREAMSICLE
The Bones - GIRL
10 years ago today, the world was first introduced to Rozzum 7134, or Roz as she prefers to be called, in Peter Brownâs heartwarming and timeless book,
THE WILD ROBOT.
Two more novels, one picture book and a feature length animated film later, and Roz is still going strong. Huge congratulations to @peterbrownstudio and @littlebrownyoungreaders on the 10th anniversary of a modern literary classic, one which has changed my life and inspired millions.
And to celebrate, they are releasing a brand new deluxe edition of the first novel, now featuring full-color illustrations and notes from Peter. You can preorder it now wherever you buy books.
Congrats Peter! And happy anniversary/birthday Roz!

Happy Birthday Kris Bowers @krisbowersmusic ! đâ¤ď¸
One of the most talented people I know, is also one of the kindest. Composer, pianist and filmmaker, Kris has a magical way of making every interaction joyful and every creative contribution to exceed expectation. Our music reviews on @thewildrobot were my favorite part of the entire process as Kris would routinely present one incredibly happy surprise after another. We would always leave those sessions beaming.
One of my favorite aspects of how Kris scored that film, was in his use of musical motifs or themes for each character that he expertly used in different keys or arrangements throughout the film. It is a style modeled after Krisâs musical hero (and also my favorite composer) John Williams, and Krisâs scores embody the same musical authenticity and invention that Williamsâs scores do.
The first piece of music Kris wrote for The Wild Robot, was also one of the most challenging: the moment deep into the film in which Roz sends Brightbill off on his first migration - a moment filled with unspoken emotion, unresolved relationships and pure cinematic spectacle. Kris felt that cracking that key moment first would inform the rest of the score, and he was absolutely right. That cue, âI Could Use a Boostâ is the musical and emotional pinnacle of the film.
My favorite Kris Bowers scores:
The Wild Robot
The Last Repair Shop (which he also directed)
Mrs. America
Bridgerton
Green Book
King Richard
The Color Purple
Happy Birthday Pedro Pascal @pascalispunk ! đâ¤ď¸
Charming, compassionate, playful, wickedly funny and a true protector and advocate, Pedro is as genuine as they come, and he has built a career of iconic roles after decades of hard work and perseverance.
On @thewildrobot much of Finkâs personality was heavily influenced by Pedro. It was his suggestion that Fink affectionately refer to Brightbill as âthe kid,â a nod to what he calls Grogu on The Mandalorian. We even added a line that wasnât scripted but was actually something Pedro said between takes. Guess which line it is - it happens during the beach scene where Fink is enjoying some clams and is digestion-related.
My favorite Pedro performances:
Oberyn Martell - GAME OF THRONES
Fink - THE WILD ROBOT
Javi Gutierrez - THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT
Joel Miller - THE LAST OF US
Din Djarin - THE MANDALORIAN
Various - SNL
Reed Richards - THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS
One of the great joys of working on movies is the opportunity to work with people youâve long admired. And @amysedaris has been one of my all time favorites ever since I first saw her on the outrageously subversive and hilarious Strangers With Candy in 1999.
A true character actress, Amy has a gift for inventing and disappearing into iconic - and often extreme characters. And a true comedienne, her ability to ad lib always elevates any project. On The Boss Baby: Family Business, many of Tinaâs funniest bits âsee me after classâ, her imaginary assistant Connie, were all added by Amy.
Happy Birthday Amy Sedaris! 3/29 â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đ
My top 5 favorite Amy roles:
1. Jerri Blank - Strangers with Candy
2. Patty Hogg/Thelma/Nutmeg/Ronnie Vino - At Home with Amy Sedaris
3. Tina Templeton - The Boss Baby: Family Business
4. Peli Motto - The Mandalorian
5. Deb - Elf
Happy Birthday @kit.connor ! â¤ď¸đ
A tremendous force of acting and genuine charm, Kit is at the forefront of his generation of actors. He has the strength and confidence of an old soul which combined with his vulnerability and sincerity, enables him to make his characters both relatable and aspirational. And he is hands down one of the nicest guys.
My favorite Kit Connor roles:
Nick Nelson - HEARTSTOPPER
Brightbill - THE WILD ROBOT @thewildrobot
Romeo - ROMEO & JULIET (Broadway)
Young Reggie/Elton - ROCKETMAN
Tommy - WARFARE
Grateful and honored to continue our @thewildrobot journey as we develop acclaimed author @peterbrownstudio âs spectacular second book in the series, THE WILD ROBOT ESCAPES for the screen!
I am so excited to partner with the great Troy Quane as he helms this next adventure, along with Heidi Jo Gilbert and the same incredible creative leadership that made the first film. â¤ď¸đ¤đŞżâ¤ď¸
