Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. You only turn 64 once and it’s hard to imagine slowing down but I guess it’ll happen eventually. All I know is it’s not now. I’ve scorched a lot of Earth on this journey and had a lot of amazing times here. I appreciate the love and support and couldn’t do it without my family and friends. You complete me and I would be who I am or where I am without you. So thanks. Here’s to more fun and another 64 years. We’re just getting started. PS missing Kiki here but she’s working and always in our hearts. And Happy Mother’s Day to @ukjulesk who is the real star here!
I’ve shot my share of Hollywood executives in my day but none was more vibrant and ballsy than Ted Turner. Turner left us today at the age of 87 and in his time revolutionized the news industry with CNN being the first 24 hour cable news network. He was also famous for marrying the feisty @janefonda and the two of them made quite a pair on the Hollywood scene. Ted, the down to Earth Southern gentleman, taking over Hollywood with TBS, TNT and earning his nicknames Captain Outrageous and the Mouth of the South. We miss the honesty and the drive of Ted and his media empire still exists though CNN is a mere shadow of its former self. RIP to a real legend whose work will live on way past him.
@spherevegas@phish night 2 was an amazing night in a round room with an amazing band that is playing their second run here of 9 shows. This time they figured how to integrate LD @chris.kuroda into the mix. Chris is running the software he uses to design all his looks for tour with @gifld to be on the big screen doing things no light rig could ever do live. It’s a trip and really great way to add the scenic flavor we are all used to at Phish shows on crack. Vegas is a magical place and being here with all the love for this scene is incredible. One more show for me and then off to NOLA. All of you coming out the next couple weeks should be stoked. Have a blast
@sidkrofft created so many epic Saturday morning TV shows when I was a kid that he and his brother Marty’s names were ingrained into our memory as were the characters they created. They bridged the gap between human sized puppets and real actors interacting as if they were real and as far as we knew @hrpufnstuf was as real as real gets. Sid and Mary were TV pioneers and they along with Jim Henson changed the puppet game and the characters they created will live on forever. RIP to a true creative genius
@springsteen on a revival tour as he showed us at night 2 of @thekiaforum Bruce started with a bang explaining how bad a shape our democracy is in right now before launching into @thetemptations ‘WAR’ which has been on his set list for over 50 years. Bruce dug deep into his catalog highlighting songs not usually performed to illustrate the themes of peace and freedom that have been essential to his music. The Bruce this Jersey boy fell in love with trying to get girls under the boardwalk and raging the shore streets at night has given way to this big hearted everyman pointing out how our country and leaders have failed us for centuries. We were all there for it last night as he played one of the shortest shows I’ve seen him do at under 3 hours. Gone are the 4 hour barn burners (he’s 76 and Max is 74) and the mixed up setlists of the past but Bruce has got a message and you’re going to hear it. He did not tell one lie all night. Go see him. There’s a reason tickets are expensive. Cause they’re worth it. Springsteen forever.

Last night the old school detective in me solved the case of @clairthedinosaur This gas station mascot captured the love of the neighborhood and we all took it as a personal assault when she was taken the first time last year. When this influencer popped into my socials bragging about how he was plotting to steal her again, I made a promise to myself to find this guy and turn him in and that’s what happened last night. As soon as the cops showed up I heard him telling them how this was a video. Then he said he had was in on it with John the owner whose phone number he had and he had a key. This checks out because as you see on the video he removes the chain with no struggle. He asked the cops to keep it quiet but I told him that I felt these thefts were not a good look for our neighborhood, which he didn’t agree with. We’ve gotten more than our fair share of attention in Brentwood over the past year and the last thing we need is more clout or attention over something that got stolen. Twice. Also when one of your neighbors has had armed robbery committed against them in broad daylight, maybe faking a theft of a beloved neighborhood mascot is not a good look. Sorry John. I’m blowing you up on this because it’s out of line. Find a new way to get attention. Maybe free gas.
