My favorite part of owning @elfinhq is being able to do whatever I want with my friends. Sure, there are heavy concepts that I like to explore and owning a business has its really hard days, but through the mix of it all- I’ve met the coolest people on the planet. We had 30 extra seconds of film on set of my last campaign ‘Eschaton’ and instead of capturing b-roll or product shots, we shot a mini rave! My Portfolio at 23 I’m really thankful for my friends who I’ve worked with on these sets. Genuinely the happiest moments of my life this year were all on set with my friends. I can call this my work as much as I want but honest it’s always a village. I want to especially thank @oski.photo who has been with me from the very very start. Oscar DM’d me about a shoot years ago when I was an embryo and our creative energy was too familiar to let go of. Today, he is still my #1 for anything creative and social. The brain and heart on that man are unmatched. I want to thank all of the crew I’ve been honored to work with on these sets. I’m someone who struggles asking for help, but I genuinely genuinely would not be anything without the support from my friends on set. It’s always a blessing to be able to provide employment, opportunity, and experience to my friends. People may look at me a certain way for only hiring Latino creatives on my set but honestly I’m standing ten toes down. Brown people are majorly discriminated against. We’re literally being put in planes and escorted god knows where on the daily - the least I can do is surround myself with a loving community of artists who are all, like me, desperately looking for work and community. I’m grateful @elfinhq has funded all of my projects this year and I can say with my full chest I have paid every single person who has worked under my wing. This is as a testimony to my love and respect for the craft. Lastly, I’m very grateful to be in a position to give back to the community financially. This year alone I’ve donated $35k back into the community either through donations or direct funding to undergrad Latino students. I hope to continue doing this for as long as I can. This is my life. This is my love. This is my everything. Now book me pls <3 J

directed a commercial for @elfinhq EL FIN LABORATORIES THE VIDEO GAME We need more latinos in the nerdy, sci-fi, and dystopian universes. Im a fan of superheroes, the unknown, and nerdy gadgets and gizmos. That said, my favorite protagonists growing up were never brown. Mexicans have always been written in for comedic relief, some sort of ethos brownie point to relate to minority demographics, or blatantly sexualized. My mission is to create a fucking cool story told by a Mexican. I can’t tell you what universe I’m creating, I can only promise that it will be authentic to me and my artistry and I will try my best to represent my people in a new, authentic, and genuine way.
