I had the opportunity to help some friends build their new coffee/sandwich/record shop @elsies.to and it was really cool to be a part of something so rad in the Junction, the neighbourhood I grew up in and still call home.
Thanks to @mennovers and Gene and Linda and @conor_mackie for trusting me not to fuck it all up. Please visit Elsie’s if you’re in the neighbourhood and even go out of your way to visit. I promise it’s cool.
Today I moved into an apartment above a house I lived in as a child. I hope the Blockbuster down the street is still open so I can rent action movies to watch during sleepovers with my friends 🤞
It feels kinda icky to talk about doing nice or charitable things but if it gets the word out I guess it’s worth it? Anyways, if you weren’t already aware @cf___to has set up fridges and pantries around the city to donate food and other items for those who may need them. Go to their page and there’s a handy map that tells you exactly where to find one in your area.
Did you get a good deal on toothpaste recently and have extra tubes lying around? Put in in the pantry. Got a cheque from grandma and grandpa so you’ve got a couple extra bucks? Buy some produce and throw it in the fridge. If you’ve got a little extra why not help out a bit. And if you believe in karma on my way here I stopped to get a coffee and the bakery gave me a free pastry so if that’s not cause of the good vibes I don’t know what is. That’s it, enjoy the holidays. Stay safe
