NEWS! We have a new offering to support @cf___to :) When you purchase a Mutual Aid Share, you are buying a physical box of organic produce is directly donated to Community Fridges Toronto. Instead of picking up the vegetables yourself to donate them, we provide them to CFTO for pickup at @dufferingrovemarket on Thursdays this spring and summer. By signing up for this, you are funding a high quality share to be stocked in community fridges to help support community members facing food insecurity.
Our shares will contain vegetables and fruits that are individually packed so that the vegetables can be shared with a wide amount of people, not just one person one share.
Your contribution ensures that the fridges are stocked with nutrient dense, locally grown and culturally relevant produce on a weekly basis :)

Another Jane’s ride for the books! @janeswalkto
In collaboration with our comrades and friends @thebikebrigade The community came together to gather food donations to be distributed to Community fridges throughout the city!
This is a great opportunity to do large scale food drops and to get people involved. The Community fridges remain a vital no barrier access for the people of Toronto but remember not every contribution has to be at this scale! You can take a walk or bike ride to a fridge and donate even a single piece of fruit. All micro interactions together can create macro change and that change can ripple through our city!
Thank you to all who continue to support and to our pals who helped make today a big success!

We built a community fridge! 💞
MicroPro Sienna is proud to have sponsored a build with Community Fridge TO (@cf___to ) to help address food insecurity in Toronto. Alex from @anex_works takes us through the build process - while this “glorified shed” is housing a fridge, it's a perfect DIY project for any backyard. 💡
He makes sure to use MicroPro Sienna treated wood so the structure is able to withstand weathering and support the community for years to come.
Our newest Community Fridge location can be found at @thebigcarrot (348 Danforth Ave, access on Jackman Ave)
Thank you to all the individuals whose generous support and muscle made this happen.

It takes all of us contributing in varying ways to build the world we want to see.
Please support this fridge or a fridge near you so that we can see community continue to thrive.
Please join us for our next film screening “Reimagining Safety” (@reimaginingsafetymovie ), a film that illustrates the history and impact of policing, why harmful aspects persist and the role of the media.
In this film 10 experts explore the false premise that more police and more prisons make us safer while providing practical and actionable solutions towards achieving systems of safety that work for everyone.

Lots of $$ donations over the holiday season. Come with us as we do a big haul shop to stock the fridges and pantries with nutritious as well as flavour enhancing items. We love to buy what we ourselves eat. What would you buy for the fridge?
This shop is courtesy of @foodiefork 🤍
The Community Fridges are accessible 24/7 and that means through all seasons!
Here’s a quick guide to supporting the fridges in our city this winter.

That’s a wrap on the Farmers Market season 2025!!
Many thanks to all of the markets that allowed us to set up our table and collect bountiful donations of beautiful food for our neighbors!
@soraurenmarket@trinitybellwoodsfm@dufferingrovemarket
Shout out to all of farmers, vendors and shoppers who contributed and of course our dedicated volunteers, the market organizers and our collaborators @thebikebrigade for ensuring the food makes it to the fridges and in the hands of the community members
As the weekly lush donations of vibrant local produce and other foods from the market comes to an end this year, we encourage you to continue to support the fridges by dropping of yummy food and or contributing cash donations to keep the initiative going! Or volunteer with us!
Every effort counts in trying to build a world we want to live in.
Support farmers! Support community!
Not giving into the beast that is cynicism. You feel it too.
Because I got a lot of comments on the post about that very thing.
Here’s one of them from PS22Indigio (hi Penny and Zoey) who said:
“Most importantly, let’s take action. Let’s do something, each of us. If just each of us do one thing, think of the difference that would make. It’s the walk. Not the talk. My Dad’s fav saying.”
Well, here you go. A video about a little bit of action in the heart of a city. It’s proof that the walk is happening. That people can show up for each other, building small steps . And it’s an antidote to the noise.
Stay curious. Stay kind. The future is unwritten.
Proud to help commission Eternal Virtue’s first Community Fridge in Kensington Market — improving food mobility and access to fresh meals for our communities. A shoutout to @cf___to for all the great work they do!
Fantastic piece on the ripple affects of Doug Ford's war on bikes and appeal of @cycletoronto 's court win.
Seniors, folks with mobility issues and the foodbanks that serve them across Toronto could see their direct deliveries of critical food supplies impacted by Ford if he rips out bike lanes.
