Honored to be part of Read to Grow's mission by writing a board book, illustrated by @lynngainesart , that Read to Grow will donate to almost 80% of the babies born in Connecticut. Yes, among other things, they give books to newborns and their families to encourage literacy as soon as possible!
Social media fail, but @mraread win (win as in the conference, not me personally)! I didn't remember to take a lot of photos, but the Mass Reading Association Conference was a great event, filling me up with stories and community! Here are a few pictures that I did get, including the one with my thumb in it. (Thanks to @mcusolito for snapping the photo of me.)
Edited to add: when I said 'Mass Reading Association win,' I didn't mean that I won something. The 'win' was a wonderfully organized conference full of great people and great stories. Some of the FB comments made me think that people thought that I personally had won something. Sorry the original post was poorly worded, but it's not like I'm a writer or anything. Oh, whoops. I forgot - I AM a writer 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I got to hang out with some very smart kids at the Worcester Arts Magnet School on Monday. And the icing on the cake? I now get a shelf in their library right next to wonderful authors like @joshfunkbooks and @heidieys !
(And do I have any pictures of me presenting to the kids? Of course not! Social media fail, once again 🤪)
Yesterday's storm was no joke, but somehow I can hear Winter 2016 saying to it, 'Child, sit down with this here cup of hot cocoa while I tell you a story about back in the day.'
