@junecotner and I are thrilled to announce our latest book deal, thanks to our amazing agent @ofarrellannemarie and publisher @globepequot ! This is our fifth anthology together, and we can't wait for readers to explore The Poetry of Nature. #bookdeals #poetry
SIERRA CLUB reviewed BLESS THE EARTH! It doesn't get any better than this!
.
From reviewer @katieowrites : "It's fitting that Earth Month coincides with National Poetry Month. After all, who's inspired more poetic fervor than Mother Earth? For a chef's kiss of an April bedtime celebration, check out BLESS THE EARTH. Filled with a range of sweet and accessible original poems---as well as classics from the likes of Langston Hughes, Aileen Fisher, and Joyce Carol Oates---this is the kind of book that poetic, nature-appreciating kids will want to page through again and again. And a full section is devoted to environmental action! It's an anthology perfect for spring, when flowers are budding and we're reminded once more of the grounding, medicinal magic that can be found in the present moment."
.
The review was excerpted from "16 Kids' Books That Make Science and Nature Sizzle" and published 4.20.25.
BLESS THE EARTH is geared for ages 3-8. It was coauthored with @nancytupperling and includes earth poems from these wonderful contributors: @michellehbarnes@keri.biron@judyackleybrown@susanne.bunch@crookerbarbara@nanandco76@mattforrestvw@diane_geiser@charlesghigna@pluckymom@charlotte_sheer@joycesidman@amanda4kidlit@venkatraman.padma@barbarayounger

Who am I missing?? Repost from @fastcompany : The small American bookstore is back. Over the last five years, the number of independent bookstores in the U.S. jumped by 70%.
But the industry’s success was far from inevitable. For a long time, indie bookstores were struggling.
In 1995, when Amazon opened as the “Earth’s largest bookstore” and started undercutting the prices at brick-and-mortar stores, readers quickly started shopping online.
Experts predicted that the industry would collapse. Then, the pandemic changed everything.
“I think that in some ways, the pandemic woke people up to processes that were invisible to them before and made them realize that they had to act to support what was important to them,” says Andy Hunter, the founder of Bookshop.org.
