📣 UPDATE: May 11th, 2026, SF 3699 (also known as “Protected Spaces, Visible Faces”) passed the MN State Senate. This states that every Minnesotan child should have the right to attend K-12 public school. It also includes that ICE agents are barred from entry to churches, schools, hospitals and courthouses without a proper warrant. Another major component of the bill requires ICE/Federal agents to have their faces visible. ➡️ Sarahi, member of the North Star Alliance (NSA), shares her perspective on how SF 3699 could affect the community she serves, and why staying informed and engaged on this issue is more important than ever. ➡️ As the 2026 Minnesota legislative session concludes, NSA continues building on its efforts for immigrant communities, carrying this work forward through continued organizing, support, and policy advocacy for immigrant neighbors who live here in Minnesota.

On May 11th, 2026, SF 3699 (also known as “Protected Spaces, Visible Faces”) passed the MN State Senate. SF 3699 states that every Minnesotan child should have the right to attend k-12 public school. It also states that ICE agents are barred from entry to churches, schools, hospitals and courthouses without a proper warrant. Another major component of the bill requires ICE/Federal agents to have their faces visible. ✊ As Future of Us continues to fight for our immigrant communities, the MN State Senate has sent a strong message by the passage of SF 3699. The passage of this bill wouldn’t have been possible without the long-term coordination and dedication of the North Star Alliance (NSA), of which Future of Us is a member. ⏩ As the 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session winds down, Future of Us remains committed to uplifting the voices of our API and immigrant communities, and remains dedicated to fighting for future legislation that will protect and uplift our immigrant neighbors who call Minnesota their home.

Justice now. Not later. Not someday. Now. Justice means showing up for our immigrant neighbors. Justice means remembering our history and refusing to look away. Justice means doing everything we can to protect our democracy from authoritarianism. Grateful to our coalition partners who are building this together, in NYC and across the country.

Different cities. Different voices. Shared stakes. Across the country, Jews showed up because this moment calls for it. Orthodox, Reform, secular, multiracial, intergenerational. This is what it looks like when a community refuses to sit this moment out. Proud to stand alongside @bendthearcus , @joindayenu , @theworkerscircle , @jfrejnyc , @jewishcommunityaction , @jalsa_boston , and partners building something bigger than any one group. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more!

Across the country, Jews showed up for democracy. Our history leaves no room for complacency. We know what it means when rights erode and power goes unchecked, and we refuse to stand by. From handmade signs to quiet moments of solidarity, people showed up grounded in Jewish values of justice and responsibility to one another. Jews for Freedom is a growing coalition bringing together organizations across the country, including Bend the Arc, the Collaborative for Jewish Organizing, Dayenu, JCPA, the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable, Jews United for Justice, NCJW, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, The Workers Circle, and T’ruah. Want to keep the momentum going? Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31 at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT for the National Interfaith Townhall: Building Momentum from No Kings, organized by @intrfthalliance and partners, including Jews for Freedom. RSVP at the link in bio.

Jews for Freedom showed up strong for democracy at the #NoKings protest. We’re a growing network mobilizing Jewish communities across the country to defend democracy and the rule of law. At #NoKings, we put our values into action, praying with our feet and showing up together in visible, collective resistance. We’re building something real and it’s only getting bigger. Join us.

There is something profound that trauma-informed educators need to understand about Jewish culture: Joy was never abandoned. Even in the depths of persecution, Jewish communities kept Shabbat. Kept singing. Kept telling stories, arguing passionately around the table, celebrating new life, marking the seasons. This is one of the most sophisticated forms of psychological resilience ever practiced. The deliberate, communal, intergenerational insistence on living fully, even when forces of hatred said you shouldn’t exist at all. The concept of simcha, which means joy, is a practice in Judaism. A responsibility. A form of spiritual resistance. An active choice. Trauma-informed practices teach us that healing isn’t only found in processing pain. It’s also found in protecting and cultivating joy. Especially joy that has been threatened. Jewish joy doesn’t erase Jewish grief. It lives alongside it. And that coexistence is something all of us can learn from. 🕎✨ . . . #JewishJoy #Simcha #TraumaInformed #JewishResilience #ResilientFutures #HealingAndJoy #CulturalResilience #StopAntisemitism #JewishTradition #JewishPride #traumainformedpractice #traumainformedschools #collectivehealing #jewishidentity #jewishlove #jewishcommunity #jewishvalues #jewishresilience #lchaim
