One of five apartments in our rehabilitation project up in Kalfaret.
Construction began in the autumn. Looking forward to seeing this project progress in 2026.

Curves are a distinctive feature in the interiors of the apartments. Large arched openings divide living spaces and the curved motif is continued into the design of the kitchen islands and shower niches.
Seiersbjerget 11 - After & Before
Restoration is well underway in bringing this large villa in Kalfaret, built in the early 1920s, back to its former character.
The building has been modified and extended at least 7 times during its 100 year lifetime, carried out with various construction methods and styles.
With every modification, the villa lost a little more of its former charm.
As part of the works, we plan to make copies of the original solid wood doors found inside the building, replace the extensive plastered details, and rebuild the facades based on principles and proportions from the original architect drawings.
The building will of course be fully isolated with underfloor heating and heat recovery systems bringing it up to today's energy standards.
In the end the villa will contain five elegant apartments ranging in size from 90-145m2.
A challenging project! I'm very much looking forward to seeing this one progress.

The roof of the building serves as a public extension of the rugged cultural landscape. Inspired by the stone trail leading to Preikestolen, we designed an accessible pathway across the roof, offering unique views of Lysefjorden.

A selection of interior spaces from our competition proposal for the new visitor centre at Preikestolen.
The tectonic concept is based on a timber roof structure of glulam beams, supported by large stone volumes embedded in the stepped terrain. The spaces between the stone volumes are open and public, while the interiors of the stone elements accommodate technical and personnel areas.

We are excited to share our proposal for the new visitor center at Preikestolen. «Steinsrøys» is a Norwegian term that refers to a pile or heap of stones in the landscape similar to the english work cairn.
In the same manner that Steinrøys mark specific points in a landscape, our proposal clearly delineates the beginning of the trail to Preikestolen, whilst integrating into the cultural landscape.
Congratulations to the winners. It’s truly inspiring to see young and talented Norwegian architects shaping the future.

Ground work has started at Lokketona - four houses up on a rocky outcrop North of Bergen, Norway. Looking forward to one day experiencing this view out to the fjord for real.
Fun fact; the largest windows in the project are 3.2 meters high and weigh half a metric tonne!
