First ever road race. Incredibly happy with my result. From being on a under geared heavy non areo gravel bike I was really impressed on how I finished. I was able to hold onto the peloton for every lap and not get dropped. My back felt amazing. Multiple times on the downhills I ran out of gears and had to tuck and hope I could catch back up. In the end the whole peloton came down to a sprint and I positioned myself towards the front. I placed well over all and am super happy with my results. I truly do believe if I was on a bike more suited for road racing I would have been able to place even higher but I am still currently working on that. I will admit the nerves were crazy going into this race so I took a shot of
@bekenetik to give me some mental clarity and help me stay focused on the task at hand. This was my first time racing in this tight of a pack and I was able to stay calm and collected the entire race. I’d also like to shoutout
@skratchlabs for helping me lock in on my nutrition. I was able to push 319 watts for the entire race and didn’t feel like I was going to bonk once. Shoutout to
@jayortiz for the amazing pictures. Thank you
@clarkehoxey for pushing me out of my comfort zone and getting me to try something new.
