Rap & Hip-Hop prägen den Zeitgeist der Popkultur wie kaum ein anderes Genre. Entstanden in den 1970er-Jahren in der New Yorker Bronx, fand die Kunstform Anfang der 1990er seinen Weg in die Schweiz. Im neuen Jahrtausend folgten erste Label-Deals und Viva-Videoclips mit Schweizer Acts. Heute fluten neue Rapsongs täglich die sozialen Medien – auch hierzulande.
Doch wie hat sich Rap in der Schweiz und im Ausland konkret entwickelt? Wer waren die prägenden Figuren der letzten Jahrzehnte? Und wie steht es um die Zukunft dieser heute so einflussreichen Musikrichtung?
An sieben Abenden lädt das Theater Rigiblick zu Gesprächen mit jeweils zwei Schweizer Rapper:innen ein. Begleitet von einer Live-Band, die musikalisch durch den Abend führt, erhalten die Gäste auch die Gelegenheit, ihre grössten Tracks live zu performen.

Lumumba, premier premier ministre élu de la République Démocrarique du Congo.
Ce morceau représente enormément beaucoup pour moi. L’histoire et la vie de Lumumba me fascinnait déjà dés le premier jour. Un afro-centriste, un révolutionaire un pan africaniste. L’execution par les Belges et des traîtres loceaux coordiné par CIA, m’a toujours apesé, mais pa choqué. Trop habituel est la douleur qui nous a rendu l’occident avec leur avidité et faim pour les richesses du congo.
Le discours de Lumumba selon la cérémonie d’indépendence est devenue historique. Pendent que les belges ont félicité eux-mêmes au travail bien fait dans le congo, Lumumba change les notes de son discours. „Nous avons connue“ est un éxtrait de ce discours. This song means a great deal to me. Lumumba’s history and life fascinated me from day one. An Afro-centrist, a revolutionary, a pan-Africanist. The CIA-coordinated execution by the belgians and local traitors has always troubled me, but never shocked me. All too common is the pain that has made us the West with their greed and hunger for the riches of the Congo.
Lumumba’s speech at the independence ceremony has gone down in history. While the Belgians congratulated themselves on a job well done in the Congo, Lumumba changed the notes of his speech.
