PART 4 - OAXACA
What a place!
Colour on every street, cuisine like nowhere else in Mexico and culture so rich you can feel it everywhere!
We filled our days walking, wandering and weaving the laneways bursting with colourful street art. Pleasantly surprised by music in the air from the multiple weddings… a big brass band, family and friends dancing through the street with giant dancing puppets resembling the bride and groom.
A day trip into the mountains took us to the incredible Hierve el Agua - we swam in beautiful mineral pools and hiked to see the petrified waterfalls. We finished the tour with Mezcal tasting… learning the art of creating this smokey, delicious and potent spirit 🔥
We sampled many Cacao de Agua during our time in Oaxaca so it seemed only fitting to spend our last day doing a cacao tasting… we learnt everything from harvesting to roasting, shelling the pods, grinding, ratios, preparation and of course enjoying the end product 👌
Oaxaca’s colour will leave rainbows in our memories for years to come and we’ll be working off the food consumed for months to come 😂🌈

Part 3 - PUERTO ESCONDIDO 🌴🌊
Our time in Puerto Escondido started with slow mornings at our eclectic art filled Casa in La Punta… colourful hand painted tiles throughout our room and the garden, hand made ceramics for our morning coffee. Truly a home away from home. Salty days and beach sunsets with a whale sighting on our first night during the full moon 🌕 Magic.
We spent the last half of our time around the steep cliffs of Playa Carrizalillo. Mornings down the many stairs only to be welcomed by turtles swimming in the bay. Our final night was spent at a local fun fair, Ziggy couldn’t believe his luck when he saw the rides.
Dancing, fireworks, music and rides… the Mexicans really do know how to have a good time.

Part 2 - MEXICO CITY 🌮
As we looked down at the impressive Mt Popocatépetl from our plane, we knew this city was going to be something special…
Colouful, vibrant, chaotic, creative and full of beauty. Delicious street food bustling all day and night, architecture, museums and endless green spaces… it really has it all.
We spent a few days enjoying the Dia de los Muertos festivities that took over the whole city.
Marigolds, music and colouful papel picado everywhere. This special Mexican holiday celebrates and honours deceased loved ones - it’s a celebration of life and remembrance, not a time for sadness.
We felt very lucky to be there 💜🩷🧡💚💙
Our last day was spent on the colourful canals of Xochimilco - Mezcal, Mariachi and the sweet smell of street food vendors us passing by.
Mexico City was 👌
Next stop… Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca

Part 1 - YUCATÁN PENÍNSULA ☀️
Arrived in Holbox… Our very first time swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. The water was unbelievably turquoise, warm and so welcoming… and we were lucky enough to see flamingos and dolphins passing us by.
In Tulum we swam in pristine Cenotes… Ziggy decided he wanted to jump from a 5.4m platform 😯
We hired a car and went south to Bacalar Lake (the lake of seven colours), which is a freshwater lake fed by many underground rivers and Cenotes 🩵
Most importantly, we experienced our first Tacos and Ceviche on Mexican soil 🌮🌵
The first of many Mexican food experiences for our excited little family 🙌
Next stop Mexico City!

5 big days exploring the big apple with our little guy…
We walked, we ate, we walked some more and of course we ate much more… squeezed in a cheeky F45, a ferry ride on the Hudson, a nap on the subway and a stroll around our girl’s Brooklyn hood.
