Where do I begin? 💭 💚 I have followed @jonmchu and @chrislxd since the LXD days. I fell in love with how they elevated street dance and made the dance the story, not just 5, 6, 7, 8 around a story happening. Let alone the way they captured it. 🎥 They got it. I’ve continued to follow them. (I have been tweeting @jonmchu since 2012 hoping he’d notice me one day-I have receipts. Crazy and committed.) 🙋🏻‍♀️ I fell in love with Wicked 🎶 in 2006, when I watched it in previews, on a college trip. My fellow class mate bought me the soundtrack because he knew just how much I had loved it! I have since watched it 14 times. Never enough. 💚 So when I knew the Wicked film was happening…I was excited. When I heard it was happening with @jonmchu and @chrislxd I lost my mind. 🤯🤩🤯 If you were around me in 2022, you’ll know, I told everyone I was going to be in this film. (At that point, no one on the casting team even knew who I was-delusional maybe…I call it passionate.) 😏 My agent at the time couldn’t get me in the room, even though I kept asking him. Then one night I get a message from @kieranlai.official “Can you get to Base for 12pm? Chris says it’s okay” Are you joking? Of course I could drop everything and get to Base and do a solo freestyle in front of @chrislxd to an orchestral version of Kanye West “flashing lights.” (If you know me, you’ll know that was also a sign from the Universe.) Chris may remember the crazy girl who ran at his table when we were all supposed to be leaving the room, just to confess her love for LXD and everything he’d done for dance. That was me 💁🏻‍♀️ Not ashamed. Didn’t know if I’d see him again, and you have to give people their flowers. So I did exactly that. Probably speaking way too fast. But you know…leave the room Jaye! Anyway, jump forward about 9 months, I’m in Sylvia at the Old Vic. I hear the UK casting director @tamsynmansoncasting and @leahhill_dancer are at stage door. I can only hope to the musical movie theatre heavens, that they agreed I was remotely noticeable and somewhat Oz-worthy. As I start to collate footage for a new choreographic showreel, I cannot deny the performer and teacher in me. 🪩🎭🎤💃🏻 Look. 👀 A little girl from Stonehouse, has done all this. Already? I am so grateful to all the creatives and storytellers that have seen me as part of their vision. It is a gift to be able to be a vessel. One that I don’t take lightly. And to those with whom I have shared and taught, thank you for trusting me. A lot of reflection. Especially of late. I am proud of me. New Year’s Eve 2024, I was asked to attend a meeting in London, with @lukejshepparduk @leggylina and Patrick Hurley. Because I said yes, I experienced everything in this reel. Forever grateful to be a part of @liveaidmusical I really had no idea what 2025 had in store for me. And this isn’t even all of it! This reel is not a highlight of 2025, because gratefully, lots more epic things happened too. This is just proof, that if you have the courage to say yes, and leave everything you know, you can do the most amazing things. Imagine saying no to all of this…Insanity! It’s been a LONG time since I’ve choreographed for joy. I’m glad I waited. I taught this a few weeks ago, but didn’t have time or space to film, until our schedules aligned. ✨🎬 I’m grateful that Eloise shared time and space with me, to learn and capture it. @eloisemaydavies is beyond talented. I picked the song because I wanted joy, vibes, chill and groove, and then the next week @teedramoses posted the “colors show” of this track and I was like, the Universe. 🔮 It has and always will be, an absolute jam. And I’m grateful it inspired me to come out of personal choreographic retirement. What a phrase 😂 Also, what a backdrop! July 13th 2025 40th Anniversary of Live Aid. Dance Captain/Swing of another West End production; Just for one day-the Live Aid musical. The musical that shows us the initial heartbreaking motivation for the Band Aid single that in turn gave birth to Live Aid-the world’s most infamous day in music history. Not just this, but also the Band Aid trust, which are still doing voluntary incredible work to this day. Thank you to @stueybuey and @lukejshepparduk who gave me a phone call on December 30th. Thank you to @lukejshepparduk @leggylina and Patrick, who met me on New Year’s Eve, for what was essentially me coming in with a long list of questions, trying to navigate whether this was the right time to return to theatre. It was. Thank you to @jwponstage for trusting Luke and having me on board. Thank you to my agent @bba_management who then gave me the offer on New Year’s Eve and completely 180’d my life. The Universe has this weird way of knowing exactly where you need to be. The day before the initial phone call, my mum stands next to me, waiting for the fireworks at Disneyland Paris and out of nowhere says, ‘I really want to see that Just for one day.’ Who knew that a few months later, she’d be watching her daughter in it, multiple times, singing her favourite song of all time (Heroes) AND giving her the opportunity to have her photo taken with Midge Ure, 40 years after she had her photo taken with him the first time-Ever the musical fanatic. I cover one of the lead roles in this show. A lady who in her life, has been a lover of music and does whatever she can to attend a live concert. If you know me and my family, you know that is art imitating life. I could talk for hours about why I’m exactly in the right place. But one of the biggest reasons is the money we get to raise through telling this story night after night. Over £1,000,000 and counting. The other is the company of people I’m surrounded by. This is the opening section to the @robelighting show at @pls_frankfurt It gives a nod to a very successful Steven Spielberg film.🍿 🚲 It also introduces our character, played by the talented circus artist @eskanor____ before he is sucked into the portal, from which the dancers have to rescue him. The only specification I had when creating this section, was Oskar wanted to do a gainer down the ramp. I’ve been to @disneylandparis many times over the last 19 years. This Music Festival has to be one of my favourite seasonal choices! My inner child was absolutely buzzing! And the analytical creative in me, was like, this is the perfect message to encapsulate how Disney is so universal and timeless. The music really is a key component to that. “It’s the soundtrack of our life’s. It’s the language we all speak.” 🎶🎤 I landed back in the UK today and have already looked at flights to return. ✈️ I won’t stay away from that for long!!!! Utter joy. And the new firework show…💁🏻‍♀️ huge fan!!! Classic Disney, modern Disney, with classic mediums and modern ones. I loved it. Also, seeing Pocahontas’ rippling hair projection mapped onto the castle, is what we all need. The message is way deeper than that-I got it. I felt it. But still, give the flowers!!! My heart is so full.
