WHAT A WEEKEND ❤️🖤
First of all big well done to all our athletes, coaches and crew who showed up for this years IPF Open Nationals 25
Was great to see everyone supporting each other both on and off the platform and make this such a special weekend and one to remember
Starting off with some highlights from the l weekend
Our newest athlete
@langaffneyy coached by
@cremedel_lacreme placed 2nd in the u57kg in a tough battle for podium, she matched the junior squat bench and total record, unfortunately her last deadlift of 177.5KG was overruled by the jury which would have been a new junior deadlift & total record, she is currently two weeks out for junior euros and we are excited to see her return to the platform again
@sazgardiner also competed Saturday with a phenomenal performance in a very close head to head battle coming in clutch with a huge 560KG Total securing her a spot on the open Irish team for next year, her first nationals since 2022 securing her second national title
@ciaran_murr placed second in the u66s with a brilliant performance. Ciaran cruised into the comp, picked up a nice bench PB on the day and secured a huge 580kg total to grab silver. So much room for Ciaran to close that gap to a 600 total in the comps to come
@_christothor_ had an incredibly tough prep. Unfortunately Chris put his leg through a chair and needed stitches, and then picked up a bug on the week of the comp. Despite a tough prep and really no squats or deadlifts done in the lead up, he still turned up and secured a deadlift PB. Expect Chris to be back to his best and then some next year
@elaine.boland.3 had an incredible comp. Competing in the u69s again and earning that National podium that she has deserved for quite some time. Elaine put down an excellent comp and pulled herself into third place with a massive 185kg deadlift PB, narrowly missing second place with her 100kg bench which got overturned by the jury on the day
