Janina Rohlik (a.k.a. jay delay) 🗓 27.04 | Sozo, Studio 2 28.04 | SOZO - Studio 1 29.04 | SOZO - Studio 2 ⏰10:15 - 11:45 📍Sozo Visions in Motion - Grüner Weg 15-17 34117 Kassel 🔹Dance as a Practice of Transformation This class focuses on improvisation based on both technique and creativity. We will sharpen our awareness of body and space and awaken various possibilities of movement. These include: the use of our bones’ weight, our breath, our eyes and our imagination. Through specific exercises, we will discover new pathways to our movement vocabulary as well as to our creative body and mind. We may also work with voice and short writing exercises. The training aims to merge movement, creativity, thoughts, and emotions into a single physical experience. We will sweat, we will listen, we will connect with ourselves and others, and we will practice dancing from this space of vulnerability and strength. We will dance as a practice of transformation. • Are you coming to Profitraining in Kassel for the first time? Then write an email to [email protected] to discuss further details. We kindly ask you to purchase the tickets on our website before the training begins → tanzwerk-kassel.org (link in bio) Foto-Credits: 1. Roman Pawlowski ; 2. Tonight, one year ago, 6.2.2025, i was dancing "And they forgot to love", a solo piece by Judith Sánchez Ruíz. Learning it at PCDCP @judithsanchezruiz.pcdcp with my two wonderful colleagues, Danielli Mendes @danilli_mendes and Julia Testas @juliatestas , who performed the piece the two other nights, Judith told us what she was processing while creating the piece. The solo is inspired by the lack of depth in the casual and social world life relationships. As the three of us, Judith was 38 years old when she choreographed and performed it. I'm still happy and grateful, that Judith encouraged me to take the challenge to learn, feel into and dance through this intense solo of 40 minutes. I'm still touched by the mutual support and appreciation I felt from and towards Danielli and Julia. Throughout the process of learning, I felt more and more connected with the piece. I guess deep down I already knew, what has come true now, one year later, and I realise that dancing "And they forgot to love" was already part of the painful process I am going through the last months. I was dancing loss, anger, pain and grief, but also something new rising inside of me. Remembering it tonight is healing.
