Ireland boycotted the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin because Dev said its 32 counties or nothing.
There were probably other reasons to boycott given all that went on that year, the host country etc.
We can be proud of that decision, but a shame for Pat O’Callaghan who missed out on the chance to win a 3rd consecutive gold medal in the Hammer Throw!
