🎂 +1 • Another trip around the sun, and life’s been nothing short of wonderful. Cheers to owning and living my own story. To staying solid and true. To turning lifelong dreams into realistic memories, one day at a time.
Cheers to life, love and a new chapter.
Happy birthday, to me 🥃

🎂 ANNIVERSARY | “CHILL”, a SOULWAVE single: 3 years ago, this masterpiece was released. A super-smooth, velvety bedroom soundtrack. Timeless. What’s your personal experience with this song?
🚨 OVER YOUR SHOULDER: Studio Day 1 🔊
So as promised that I’ll be showing you guys moments from the making of our next classic (and the last single before the SOULWAVE album), here’s a little bit of what happened from Studio Day 1 of “Over Your Shoulder”.
I had the song pre-written from home, so I got in the studio with my big bro “Festy Baba” (on the guitar) courtesy of my good bro @leyefasasi (who was having a great time behind the camera by the way) to teach Festy Baba the melody of the song as well as the basic guitar chord I want for the song.
I looped the skeletal beat (pre-sequenced by you-know-who, of course 🙄) on in the background, started singing the lyrics, big bro caught the direction of the guitar style and very soon we were jamming smoothly. By the end of this session we have the guitar chord firmly formed and ready for tracking, cos I want it live, rich and natural on the final record. You know the vibe.
So next session, we’ll be tracking the guitar live. And I’ll share that as the next episode. So stay tuned 🥃🌺
🌺 VOCAL WARM-UPS • one of the best form of vocal practice is to try and hit each note as clean as possible with your sleepy morning voice 😅 the standard over here is: NO DIFFERENCE between the vocals on the records and the vocals live and in person 💯
by the way the song I’m singing here is the second half of Justin Timberlake’s “Let The Groove Get In”. love that song to bits 🥃
new music soon my friends!
UNBOXING MEMORIES, SHARING HISTORY 🥃
Part of building up to our new, exciting incoming project is the importance of sharing background history about the artist, artistry and the music. I was home in my hometown last December and brought you guys back some valuable memories. Bit of a long video but worth your time.
Enjoy, fam’ly 🥃
happy new year again, friends and fan-mly! 🤗🥃
continuing our “SOULWAVE” franchise properly this year means every installment, including the very genesis, the “ROAD 2 SOULWAVE” EP, will be made available to fan-mly members worldwide in own-able formats, not just on stream.
in an especially good news for the international fan-mly members, “ROAD 2 SOULWAVE” is now available on @bandcamp in downloadable MP3 format (including the original album inlay and exclusive album photographs by the young legend @morganotagburuagu ); this is great new for collectors who like to actually own copy of music offline. The SOULWAVE album is coming in this format and exclusive physical editions also.

“ROAD 2 SOULWAVE”, 5TH ANNIVERSARY 💐🥃
They say great things, most of the time, starts from small places. And this is exceptionally true of me as a young man hailing from a village who had a lofty dream of touching the farthest corners of the world, through music.
Other than an undeniable set of proficient skills in making music, coupled with an immovable resolve, I practically had nothing when I made “Road 2 Soulwave” 5 years ago. So there was of course the fear of ‘who’s going to hear this?’ as there wasn’t even a defined fanbase to release it to. But I’ve always known, above everything else, that the music in itself is bigger than me; I am just blessed to be a willing carrier of God’s terrifying gifts and the power to make fellow humans actually listen to the world around them.
Five years later, on the brink of a long-awaited sequel, I’m humbled that wonderful humans around the world are still very much tuned in to this short but sweet masterpiece, on a daily basis, and new people still discover it everyday. Comments, messages, reposts, playlists adds, still very active after 5 years. I am very humbled.
I remain super-grateful to everyone involved in the making of this EP and the little word we were able to put out upon its release, as well as every drop of support it still continues to receive to this day.
THANK YOU, AMAZING HUMANS 🙏🏾
