Smoke & Mirrors! My first album is out now!
Most of my guitar playing & practice takes place at night, so a nighttime album it is!
When I listen now, I hear: the fragments of people I’ve loved and learned from in my playing, my curiosities for found sounds, whimsy, nighttime hours spent trying to contextualize myself in my surroundings, musically, spiritually, otherwise.
I’m pretty proud of it & simultaneously amped for what’s brewing next with this here noggin, heart, & fingers! 🫢 Also, this year is my 20 year guitariversary! WOW! So much still to learn, it makes me itchy thinkin about it..

First time learning a Django solo, took a few months of very inconsistent practice to learn by ear, and it’s still ruining me at 85% speed 🙀😿😻 Wanted to just share my progress though, & would love to learn more of his solos 💥 The song is Django’s Tiger! Two weeks ago, after driving home from my first show with @dantalked (a new project!), I hit a puddle on the freeway, and found myself in an incredibly scary hydroplaning car accident, hitting both sides of the elevated highway and totaling my beloved Subaru Impreza of 9 years, Lil Bitch. Despite the intensity of the crash, I am okay ♥️♥️♥️ save for some minor injuries/whiplash and a lot to process emotionally!!
Lil Bitch was my only constant for the past 9 years, living all up and down the West coast, lugging music gear and friends and falling in love.. Purchased at the honorable price of $2,300, I loved the bejeezus out of this car and she just refused to die!! The toughest bitch I know (other than myself! ;) Her final act was to save my life, at the ripe mileage of 347,818 ♥️
Her fate: to be converted into a lemon race car courtesy of my friend Cooper! What a gift to have skilled friends who are able to reframe my shitty situation into a silly fun time! What a gift to have support from loved ones, meals, rides, attending my car funeral!
I am a lucky one, in many ways :)

🌷 May 8 Gumby’s playing with amazing bands from Japan (we love seeing them every year)
🌷 May 9 same venue, we’re not playing but instead will be DJing between sets (expect a lot of everything!!)
