An Offering — an exhibition for the senses.
Timber, touch, and the quiet presence of cedar.
New work emerging from the studio, alongside a few seasoned pieces, now on view at
@forefront.place 134 Old Street, London, until 17 April.
Dancing Women
Rising from laminated cherry timber stems, the sculpture moves in a gentle upward rhythm. Its hand-carved twisting texture transitions from deep, expressive cuts into a soft, shallow fade, tracing lines first drawn digitally and then shaped by hand — a quiet dialogue between technology and craft.
The exhibition brings together wooden sculptures, crafted furniture, and small maquettes in a collective installation guided by a logic of “Timber and Technique.” Carving, turning, stacking, and alignment become rhythmic acts of assembly, unfolding between material knowledge and embodied making.
An Offering is a curatorial collaboration between Jan Hendzel and British-Ghanaian artist and architect

The exhibition acts as a reciprocal gesture: the studio’s work is offered to the space, emerging from the offering made by Forefront Gallery through their unique platform. In turn, the gallery becomes an intimate place of process, memory, and making — where the scent of cedar fills the room, the mind wanders instinctively toward touch, and a quiet sense of nostalgia begins to surface.
We very much hope you can join us and look forward to welcoming you there.
