I saw an interview where Cole Walliser remarked that being mixed oftentimes feels like an identity crisis. I couldn’t have resonated with that more deeply. Growing up biracial, I never felt like I was truly seen for what I am, especially in an industry that tries to fit us into clear cut boxes. I didn’t look like what people think Filipino is and for the longest time felt like I didn’t have a right to claim that side of me.
The last few years has been such a healing experience to be surrounded and seen by so many Filipinx creatives. I feel so grateful to be part of such an amazing community. 🇵🇭💕
