6 YEARS!!!
It has taken 2,192 days to develop an idea, execute production, not be discouraged by every hiccup along the way (and there have been loads!!), face fears, and get to this point.
Holda, a storytelling brand rooted in the experience of multi hyphenated identities. Exploring what is means to be X and British. We use traditional crafts to merge the worlds we come from with the world we live in. But we don’t wanna stop at clothing, we want to create a whole universe!! For anyone who ever felt like they don’t belong, like you had to pick between your many identities, like people don’t understand your experience, THIS IS FOR YOU!!! We want events, run clubs, supper clubs, panels, maybe we bring back a podcast?!?!!! We want it all for you.

Hey guys! I had the pleasure of working with the @bbcasiannetwork over the last few months, discussing being indo-Caribbean, stories of diaspora and migration! We started with a small segment on the radio with my Baba(💕) & @shereenldn from @museumoflondon and worked our way to a panel discussion with the amazing @ankurdesai_@sanamiee@wes.cindi@mariakaladeen ✨ This convo had so many interesting perspectives from very different walks of life! But still at the end of it we all shared that sense of not knowing where we belong. Which I think means we found where we belong? In the comfort of our community 💕

It’s been such a meaningful experience to be part of a project that explores history with honesty and depth and to see how our stories connect across time.

Day2: with my beautiful family
Day3: talking about and listening to my community, ending the day with chutney and dominoes
Always grateful to share my experiences and privileged to resist colonialism from safe spaces. We are privileged, but we must not get comfortable in this privilege but rather use it as the support to fight harder.
