10 years ago Clara helped lead the local team in Santiago de Cuba to make MANANA possible. It was a moment of cautious optimism as the country began to open its arms to the world and introduce small changes. Today things are very different - the island is facing a severe crisis from US sanctions which are causing food, medicine and fuel shortages - leading to widespread blackouts. Since 2016 Clara has kept fighting every day to keep art, theatre and music alive in the community. We’ve launched a fundraiser to support the amazing work she is doing with @cajanegrateatral theatre. Your donations go a long way in Santiago de Cuba. Please help us reach our £2k target.

MANANA began as a residency and festival in Santiago de Cuba exploring the African inspired musical roots found in the east of the island through collaborations with artists like Space Afrika, Ariwo, SoundSpecies, Yussef Dayes, Nicolas Jaar, Plaid and Pouya Ehsaei.
MANANA’s 10 year anniversary is a party to bring together the extended Manana family, and experiment with some new collaboration ideas through the results of a MANANA//Labs residency.
The day/night festival will be held in the incredible Ancient Technology Centre Earthouse (google it!) in Dorset just 2hrs drive from London on Saturday 23rd May bank holiday weekend.
Camping will be provided onsite as well as food options, fire and Cuban rhythms to release your soul.
