It’s finally out! Thanks @kathleenmkeenan and the whole team at @kidscanpress ! Posted @withregram@kathleenmkeenan Spotted in the wild! Happy book birthday to THE BIGFOOT FIELD GUIDE TO CAMPERS, a sweet and funny friendship story told from Bigfoot's point of view. Bigfoot has quite a few opinions about us, as it turns out... It was a delight working on this with the very talented Jami Gigot (@jamigigot ), and KCP team designer Mike Reis and production editor @shannon.swift . And it's available in bookstores today! P.S. If you saw this post yesterday, no you didn't. 😉 #books #bookstagram #picturebooksofinstagram #picturebooks #kidsbooks #kidsbookstagram #childrensbooks #kidscanpress #editorlife #lifeinpublishing

I am very excited to reveal the cover for my next picture book THE BIGFOOT FIELD GUIDE TO CAMPERS coming this May from @kidscanpress ! While there are many dangerous creatures in the forest, there’s one species that Bigfoot fears most: campers! They’re smelly and noisy, and they make a mess of everything. Thankfully, Bigfoot has ten simple guidelines sure to keep anyone safe from these interlopers. Only, when he slips up on Guideline #2 - “Never, EVER allow yourself to be seen by a camper” - Bigfoot’s surprised to find himself ignoring his own advice to help one who’s lost. Could it be he’s had the wrong idea about campers all along? In this fresh, flipped take on Bigfoot, readers discover how reconsidering what we think we know about others can be a great way to make a friend. Jami Gigot’s hilarious storytelling features text describing what not to do playfully juxtaposed with art that completely contradicts it!

It was such a delight representing our amazing team at #sparkFX in our program “Synthesis & Spectacle: The Creative Minds Behind Award-Nominated VFX” session! We had a blast diving into the technical artistry and creative problem-solving for TRON Ares, Frankenstein and Avatar Fire and Ash. Thank you Spark, the ILM team and all those that came out to chat #vfx!

Reposting this from @bookishwaytoplay TO THE KOOKS, REBELS AND HEROES (Jami Gigot) Thank you for truly understanding the message of this book and for sharing it ❤️ I love this dedication by author/illustrator, Jami Gigot, in ‘Starboy: Inspired by the Life and Lyrics of David Bowie’; I am sure we can all think of people we love that would fit these descriptions. We are currently introducing children to a Musician of the Month ( / ) which aims to give all children an appreciation of a range of music styles – they believe in the value of letting children explore the world of music and therefore the world itself. One of the musicians they advocate is David Bowie and this book will be coming into school to share with the children. It is a book that tells us to dance to the stars and with the cosmos; its message is about finding yourself, being yourself and accepting all that you are: “When David opened his eyes, everyone was tip-tapping and shimmy-shaking to the rhythm. The star energy was moving them, too! David smiled. The spark inside him radiated like a shining star.” It is brave to fearlessly express yourself but this is something that David Bowie absolutely did. The end pages of the book tell us more about his life: his young life, the musical landscapes that inspired him, creating trends and inventing personas as well his worries about his mental health, his death and his legacy. @jami.gigot @jamigigot @mackidsbooks
