Full performance in bio! @grammys sent me a long list of #Grammy winning songs to choose from for their #grammysreimagined series. Being a pop girlie, there were more obvious choices I could’ve gone with- Madonna, Brandi Carlile- but how could I truly ‘reimagine’ songs so close to home? I wanted to do something unexpected. All My Life is one of my favorite @foofighters songs, and digging into the cryptic lyric resonated with me on a level I hadn’t expected— raw, nuanced, self aware, brutally honest, and masterfully crafted; from the smoldering verse to the explosive hook, the marriage of lyric and dynamic composition perfectly encapsulates a viscous emotional cycle rarely touched upon, in a way I’ve never really heard before or since. My personal takeaway from it was the insatiable desire to connect, the lows we stoop to to get it, the thrill of the chase, the crush of disappointment, the shame for dessert, and the resulting rage that we’ll never actually reach that prize at the end of the rope…. Over the last couple of months, @noahgersh and I sat down to make some music that felt different to us than anything we had collaborated on before. Away from the constraints of melody and meter we found a little peace in something we were playing with. We put it out a few days ago under the name “sleep school” it’s an exercise in letting go and finding some space. We found it.

BLACKOUT is a fictional audio drama starring @ramimalek , out today. A stupid amount of work from an incredible group of people went into this thing and ITS OUT TODAY WHEREVER YOU PODCAST @noahgersh And I did the score, helped edit and mixed the mastered this little beast. It’s not often you get to partner on a project with your best friend since kindergarten. Thanks to @davidthehater for thinking of me, for what seemed then and now as an insane task.
