✨ What a day! Myself and the wonderful Nick Park were invited to Apple’s HQ inside Battersea Power Station… where we met Apple CEO Tim Cook… and then HRH King Charles! Nick and myself then watched the Wallace & Gromit Shot on iPhone projection outside together… finishing off the evening by giving a talk about the project at Apple’s beautiful flagship store on Regent Street! Thank you @apple , thank you @aardmananimations , thank you Nick, thank you @thewallaceandgromit . That is a day I’ll never, ever forget! ❤️✨

Oh boy, I am so SO proud & honoured to say that I’ve been the Director of Wallace & Gromit - Shot on iPhone. A festive @aardmananimations stop frame animation for @apple , shot entirely on iPhone 16 Pro Max’s, projected 101 metres tall onto the iconic Battersea Power Station! It’s projecting every night in December from 5-10.30pm!! It has been the project of a lifetime with *the* most incredibly kind, incredibly skilled crew. I’ll be doing lots more posts soon, tagging everyone properly, but for starters please know that the team that crafted this thing, from every rivet on the contraption to every minute movement of a puppet to every production item on the schedule, were the greatest people to work with. It’s a project I’ll never forget! Our friends at Apple have been amazing too, they have been such enthusiastic partners in all of this, always elevating the ambition of what can be done with the project and throwing all their energy behind it, it’s been incredible! 🐟👁️ Some of my favourite photos captured on ‘FSHi’ - my custom 3D printed GoPro case! I turn off all the software settings to just give me the (nearly) circular image plus shooting RAW to allow me to grade in Lightroom! I’ve been making something - “FSHi - VX1K”! Using Shapr3D on the iPad then 3ad printing on the Bambu A1 Mini I’ve made my own ergonomic camera case for my GoPro! Forever in love with fisheye photography, there’s a lil’ trick I’ve been using of using the ‘max lens mod’ on the GoPro which makes it ULTRA wide, but disabling the mod in the software so you’ve got access to the (nearly) full circular image! I’ve been shooting them as stills in RAW, grading in Lightroom! It lets me relive my youth, obsessed with death lens skate films and hype Williams music videos! This has been a learning curve for me in terms of learning proper CAD, making something millimetre-precise, I went through lots of prototypes! A decade ago me and my good friend @ernyberny directed the 2016 title sequence for the @offfest in Barcelona, featuring @praystation @johnnycupcakes @mr_bingstagram to name but a few!! We made it at @aardmananimations studios, with the support of our Aards friends ❤️ The whole thing was set to the banging soundtrack by the mighty @yeahrightpos , who kindly re-rapped his ‘Get Down’ song, replacing the lyrics with the names of all the speakers! TA-DA! This is v0.8 of ‘GNARLYBOT’, my neon-Norbot virtual pinball table! I’ve taken the digital recreation of a skate-themed 1990 Bally pinball called ‘Radical’ and rethemed it as ‘Gnarlybot’, which is the fluro-soaked design I created for @thegrandappeal Gromit Unleashed 3 charity arts trail! This has moved in quite a bit since I last shared it - the ‘playfield’ art has been tweaked and completed, and now has a working ‘backglass’ to accompany it too! I’m really pleased with the aesthetics, but my next task is to take the design to the next level by importing it all into Blender and creating a more realistic set of light maps! Thanks to the V-Pin Workshop crew for all the assistance and to VPW, Fleep, fizzy, Flupper, Benji, laakki, Sixtoe, 32assassin & JPSalas for the original Radical virtual table that this is all built on! #virtualpinball #vpinball #gromitunleashed3 #norbot #aardman #vpw

TA-DA! This is my beta version of my own ‘GNARLYBOT’ virtual pinball table! It is a reskin of a real 1990’s Bally table called ‘Radical!’ and was the perfect starting place for a skateboard-themed virtual pinball table. ‘Gnarlybot’ it was my take on ‘Norbot’ from the latest Wallace & Gromit movie, and it was my design for the Gromit Unleashed 3 charity sculpture trail. It was my graphical homage to 70s/80s/90s skateboard excess - tonnes of neon colours and trippy patterns! This table is just a beta though, there’s still *lots* of graphics to change and then I want to move onto creating a custom backglass and alt sounds package. Safe to say though I am having a BLAST doing this, it’s a huge learning curve but it’s so rewarding to be able to play and test how it looks and feels! Of course I am just standing on the shoulder of giants, I’m simply reskinning the hard work of VPW, Fleep, nFozzy, Flupper, Benji, Iaakki, Sixtoe, 32assassin, JPSalas who brought the ‘Radical!’ Table to life from Bally’s original.
