When I started beyond tellerrand, I had a vision, how I wanted the event to be.
I wanted the festival to be friendly, welcoming and with a mix of topics that would inspire and motivate people, even though it would not be their work field. A place to meet new people and make new friends. To grow your network. Professionally and for your next passion project.
15 years after I started planning the very first event, the topic focus slightly shifted. That was not intentional, but a matter of the development of interests, the internet growing up and the world in general. But my aim I mentioned above still is the same.
It still is hard for me to give someone a 5-second pitch about what beyond tellerrand is. But many of the attendees said countless wonderful things to me, which help me, to get a clearer image of what I do.
Therefore I invited the lovely people of @lets.twist to produce a recap and I think they did a brilliant job in catching the atmosphere and vibe of Düsseldorf 2025. Thanks especially to Katalin Kochanski and Mathis Härtel for filming and creating this recap video.
In the end, though, I think there is no other way to come and find out yourself, what beyond tellerrand is and why you should be there. We are already looking forward to welcome you at the next event.

Generative visuals made with Kirby?
Sascha Bregenhorn @saschafrommars demonstrated at @btconf last week that Kirby can be used for more than websites. The Tellerrandomizer served some of the visuals that accompanied the event.
There was no need for a big technical setup since the Kirby panel worked perfectly on a smartphone.
With just a base of textures, graphics, masks and fonts and a little .*+ php rand() +*. the collected photos and quotes were projected as freshly generated compositions immediately after each talk was over.

The Tellerrandomizer—my small contribution to this year’s @btconf . During each talk, I collect photos and quotes, and the presentation is shown afterward. The design is driven by random values. In the background, there’s a pool of textures, graphics, svg masks, and fonts, with their styling controlled simply via php rand(). As simple as it is effective.
