THE BEST KOREAN SWEET POTATO I’VE EVER MADE 🍠
This ONE surprising step changed how I think about roasted goguma forever 👏🏽
This is officially the method I’m using from now on ✨
For the best results 👀
1️⃣ 375°F for 20 minutes
2️⃣ Ice water for 2 minutes
3️⃣ 425°F for 25 minutes
If you follow this technique, they taste just like Korean convenience store goguma 😉

WELCOME TO JAMESYWORLD 2.0✨
I’m SO EXCITED to share the new chapter of my world (finally!) 🤩
Honestly, I’ve been feeling lost, lonely, and somewhat directionless this year.
I kept asking myself, “What am I doing with my life? What do I REALLY want to do? Am I on the right path?” And I couldn’t answer any of those with confidence.
My anxiety and self-doubt got even worse once I became a full-time freelancer a few months ago.
Despite having all sorts of mixed feelings, one thing that kept me going was being able to share my authentic self with everyone.
Whenever I receive kind messages from y’all about my parents, my recipe videos, or just me being excited for cooking and trying new dishes, I feel SO grateful and loved, feeling like y’all are cheering for me and believing in me more than I do.
Instead of listening to my inner critic so much, I started working on my brand to celebrate WHO I AM with ONE AND ONLY @jeanpyo from @feelsstudio and created JAIME (Jay-Me 제이미), my new character that captures and carries my animated energy perfectly ✨
And today feels like a PERFECT day to reveal JAIME (Jay-Me 제이미) because it’s MY BIRTHDAY 🥳
SAY HELLO TO JAIME and get ready to see so many more exciting things in JAMESYWORLD 🤗
I’m proud to be where I am in life even though I don’t know where it’s going. But I’m excited to share every chapter of my life with y’all 🥹
ANYWAY, THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE AND SLURP SOME DELICIOUS NOODLES TODAY FOR MY BIRTHDAY ❤️🔥
My spicy debut cookbook is OUT today 😭🥹
Words can’t even describe how excited and proud I am to share this moment with you all.
When I first came to America by myself at 13, barely speaking the language, I never imagined that I would still live in America or even have a cookbook published!
I always wanted to prove a point to myself and my family that I could be successful. At that time, success in America meant assimilating to the culture and masking my Asian identity.
But now, success means that I get to celebrate my Asian identity and embrace who I am as a Korean immigrant. And I’m beyond grateful and thankful that I can share my stories, flavors, and culture through the lens of chili crisp.
When I first tasted Lao Gan Ma many years ago, I didn’t think that chili crisp would become so personal to me. But now, after developing my chili crisp featuring Korean flavors, I can’t think of my life without this magical condiment.
As I talk in the book, chili crisp is SO much more than a condiment. It’s my way of exploring my Korean identity, connecting with my community, and sharing my joy and enthusiasm for cooking.
I can’t wait for us to go on our spicy adventure together, and thank you so much for supporting me at every step of this journey!

Spicy tuna rice bowl 😮💨
I’ve been eating this combo for YEARS, and it still hits every single time 🤭
If you still haven’t tried iconic Korean hot pepper tuna, this is your sign 👀

CHEWY SPICY NOODLES 😮💨
Comment “potato noodles” and I’ll DM you the recipe! Make sure you’re following me, or the message might not go through 🫢
If you haven’t tried bunmoja (aka potato noodles), you need to ASAP! They may feel firm at first, but after a quick boil, their texture turns into something irresistibly chewy and bouncy, which is SO unique!
You can add them to so many dishes like tteokbokki, stir-fries, and soups.
But my favorite way to enjoy them is drenched in this savory, spicy sauce that takes them to the next level 🔥
And while this sauce is incredible with bunmoja, it’s just as delicious with dumplings, rice cakes, and other noodles 😉

What makes Korean cuisine Korean? 🇰🇷
As I experience different forms of Korean cuisine, from traditional temple cuisine that preserves centuries of history to Michelin-starred restaurants redefining what Korean food can be, I find myself constantly thinking about this question.
My recent visit to @hwaro.nyc , a new 12-course tasting menu experience from one of my favorite chefs, @sung.shim , reminded me just how exciting and expansive Korean cuisine can be.
HWARO refers to a traditional Korean charcoal braiser historically used to gather people around warmth and shared meals.
Chef @sung.shim beautifully carries that spirit into a dining experience that feels both deeply rooted and forward-thinking.
It’s been so exciting to see Korean cuisine continue to evolve in ways that honor tradition while creating something entirely new.
Dining at HWARO was truly one of the highlights of my NYC food experiences this year!

What a night to remember 🥹
As I get older, I get to experience different sides of my parents that allow me to understand them more as people, not just my parents.
And this fun night out was one of those special nights that my mom and I got to know each other even more!
I feel so lucky that I get to build this kind of memory with a fun lady who I’m proud to call my mom ❤️
NO MORE BORING EGGS 🫣
Comment “spicy eggs” and I’ll DM you the recipe (make sure you’re following or it won’t send 😉)
This spicy gochujang sauce is SO GOOD with jammy eggs! Savory, a little sweet, and packed with flavor✨
You can also use it on tofu, mushrooms, or whatever protein you have 👀

HOMEMADE MOCHI, BUT BETTER 😉
As I was enjoying my @ellenosyogurt ’s newest flavor, Birthday Cake, I had an idea: CAN I USE THIS TO MAKE MOCHI?!
And, my curiosity led to my Greek yogurt mochi experiment, and happy to report and it was a HUGE SUCCESS!
Using the Greek yogurt in the mochi dough AND as the filling made these bites protein-rich snacks that kept me satisfied and full! And of course, SO TASTY 👏🏽
As a huge fan of mochi, I KNOW I will be making these Greek yogurt mochi more often with different flavor variations! Maybe with some matcha powder or cocoa powder?!
Possibilites are ENDLESS!!
Here’s the Greek yogurt mochi dough recipe ratio I used 👀
1/2 cup mochiko flour
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 tsp matcha or cocoa powder (optional)
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp milk
Mix it all together in the bowl, cover it, and microwave it for 1 minute 30 seconds, or until the dough comes together. Once it comes together, knead it until it stretches in a flour-dusted surface.
