Our mom passed away early yesterday morning after a quick and unforgiving illness. We're all shocked and it feels so unfair to have lost her so suddenly, but it is a relief that she isn't suffering anymore. We'll love and remember her forever.
These are some photos I took during a visit with her last month. Through such a tough time, she never lost herself and faced the situation with so much poise. She had an endless stream of loving visitors, and made friends with just about every nurse and doctor she met along the way.
Earlier in her stay, she took particular notice of the curtains in the hospital. Through various rooms, it was like her inner designer never took a rest, and to our enjoyment we listened to her critique the stitching, colour patterns, mismatched panels, and whatever else she noticed. It was nice to see her be the same as ever in such circumstances. She is probably responsible for any sort of creative bone I've got, and I'll take that with me forever.
Love you mom. Wherever you are now, I bet the curtains are perfect.

Keiran landed on this a million times back in 2013, and we'd come back to the spot and give it another try every time he would return to the city. This day in particular, we decided to give it a go after shooting another photo in the west end. We got downtown as it was getting to be too dark for the HPX to film, with no extra bodies to watch for cars or pedestrians. To our dismay, there was a bike locked at the bottom of the rail, and we thought we were shit outta luck on all fronts.
Somehow, the stars aligned, the bike moved and the solo filmer/photographer/pedestrian-guard situation we had going on worked out just right and we got'er done with the last shreds of daylight. Even got the glory ride switch tre to sweeten the deal
Officially ten years to the day since we acknowledged that our oddly-close friendship was more than platonic - something everyone around us already seemed to know. We've both done so much and so many things have changed in the years since, but all of the important things have stayed the same. Love you so much Bubbs - happy decade-iversary ❤️❤️❤️
