Sandrine [100 Portraits]
@sandy_delasalle
"Dance has always been more than movement for me , it has been my voice, my way of expressing emotions and touching the hearts of others. At 17, I left home to follow this calling. It was a journey of sacrifice and strength, but by 21 I became a Principal Ballerina, travelling the world and living my dream. It was on stage, in Romeo and Juliet, that I met my husband , and my true partner in life and art. ❤️
With our son, we built a life in Perth. For over a decade, I devoted myself to West Australian Ballet, guiding dancers with passion while my husband led as Artistic Director. Together, we brought the world to Perth, sharing our vision and international experience with the community.
Today, I coach and mentor rising stars, teaching not just ballet, but the artistry and soul behind it. I am also the proud founder of Ballet 4 Wellbeing, a program that helps elderly and vulnerable people to age with grace, dignity, and joy through Ballet movement.
Ballet has been my journey, my gift, and my way of giving back and it continues, with every step, every dancer, and every connection."
