To my best friend. Cat mom, travel buddy, vibe capitan, tiny tongue lady, movie companion, work out coach, "lyricist, not a singer," and constant goof ball. You are the best part of my life. Even when it feels like everything is falling apart (which it CERTAINLY has felt like this year), you never stop making me laugh and you NEVER let me forget about all the good stuff. I literally can't imagine my life without you in it, but I know it'd be a whole lot less fun. Happy Birthday, Honey Pie. I do not speak just for myself when I say the world is a better, brighter place with you in it. And I'm so stoked I get to be along for the ride with you forever and foralways. Everyone go listen to this!! This was an absolute labor of love with @oliviabartonhaha and @collinpastore and its really a treat when you can be totally starstruck by your friends. I saw Olivia at the basement for the first time a couple years ago and walked away having a different understanding of what a song could look like. I told her that her lyrics and song structure reminded me of a Piccasso painting. Deconstructed, abstract, but fully intentional and never confused about "the point." I have so much more to say, but for now, let me just say THANK YOU to Olivia for trusting me and Collin with your vision. I've rarely had a better time making music and I'm so proud of this record.

With fall here and summer (technically) gone, I know that the next few month are gonna be rough on me emotionally. They always are. That's just how my body works. That's why I'm leaving this post for myself. I'm gonna try to embrace the things I'm thankful for, no matter what season it is. Things like my friends, my family, art, movies, music, collaboration, kit kat, my wife, and the endorphin rush at the end of a good work out. I tend to hide away in the colder months and shut myself out of everyone else's lives, so this is a reminder to myself to reach out to the people I love often, a reminder to remain creatively challenged, and a reminder to be content with slower days. If anyone else gets in the same seasonal ruts, I feel you, and I'm here too. I'm just a phone call or text away.
