PHREAKED is an electroacoustic chamber opera inspired by the true story of Joybubbles (1949-2007), who, as a blind boy, used his perfect pitch to hack the telephone signaling systems. Had a great fall 🥚

This summer I got the chance to do a bunch of performing and some teaching at @sitkafinearts :) 1: Leading a music rehearsal as Assistant Music Director for our production of Newsies, music directed by @emmadub who was an amazing mentor & collaborator!! 2: Taking a group of high schoolers out on a "sound walk" with @leah.veyyy 3: Playing "Helicopter Seed," a short ensemble piece I wrote to perform for the students, conducted by @nathan.rongish 4–6: The beginning of a set of new piano pieces... 7–9: Playing keys in the pit orchestra

Free improv with @georgewrog for a concert he organized at @sitkafinearts – George is so fun to play with and I'm grateful we got this chance :)

So much fun at Sitka Fine Arts Camp this year 🩵

My first time singing & playing piano for an audience :) I transcribed this arrangement (which I cannot find) of Carole King's "You've Got A Friend" for a concert in high school, and it felt good to learn it myself this summer. Now I want to get better at piano-singing!! Shout-out to @georgewrog for organizing this concert at Odess Theater in Sitka, AK, and thanks @ameliakfriess for the video!!
