The ASCAP Foundation “The Latin Beat” Songwriting Program is back! Supported by the Harold Adamson Lyric Award, “The Latin Beat” benefits songwriters who write in the Latin music genre and who are in the early stages of their careers. King Charles spent Wednesday afternoon visiting Harlem Grown, a grassroots non-profit that turns vacant city lots into urban farms and provides youth development programs. The ASCAP Foundation and Harlem Grown are harmonizing this mission by bridging nature and rhythm. Through dedicated guitar and djembe drumming instruction, we provide a creative sanctuary where youth don’t just learn instruments, they blossom into their purpose.

This year, our very own Foundation Recipient Immanuel Wilkins scored a gig at NPR's #tinydesk! Immanuel is a recipient of the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award and was recently nominated for Best Alternative Jazz Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
