@jake.bruton visits a jobsite in Austin where a @risingerbuild crew is installing Huber ZIP System R-Sheathing on a roof — an approach Huber quietly allows but rarely promotes. Jake breaks down the assembly, including the base sheathing layer, ZIP R9, and a DELTA®-TRELA drainage mat, while discussing thermal bridging, cost, labor, and where this method makes the most sense for conditioned attic assemblies. The most valuable tool you can own isn’t complicated. It’s a blower door. Jake Bruton has used one for 15 years, and it’s still the most informative tool in his process. Not just for testing at the end, but for learning, improving, and staying competitive. Because when you can measure your own work, you stop guessing and start getting better. And no, it’s not hard to use. 🎧 Full Flow Lab episode with @jake.bruton is live now. If you’re serious about building better, this one’s worth your time.

@jake.bruton visits a unique renovation in Austin where mockups drive key design decisions. From restoring reclaimed wood beams to testing nearly invisible grout lines and laying out an oversized tub, each mockup helps solve problems before finishes go in. A reminder that some details can’t be figured out on paper alone.

One of the best parts of the Building Science Symposiums are the roundtables. After the presentations end, the room starts buzzing and smart people start working through the grey areas. It’s hard to beat. @benbogie @stevenbaczekarchitect @rosstrethewey @jake.bruton @rdhbuildingscience @buildingsciencesymposium

Very clever way to keep your ductwork in the conditioned space while also having a vented attic. Nice job @jake.bruton

Utah’s got the views. The people make it unforgettable. 🏔️ We had the opportunity to spend time with some incredible builders and teammates out on-site in UT - somehow this is work. 🤘😎🤘

One's man trash is another mans blocking material! @jake.bruton is doing a great job eliminating waste on his jobsites by repurposing the extra @huberwood Zip, Advantech, and 2x4s. Very smart!

IN THE TREES ....this beautiful home that we designed and @aarowbuilding built fits nicely among the trees. As one drives by you can't help but think someone built a treehouse. At night, the help of the interior lighting defines the space among the trees.....Well done Gentleman on the execution of this build!! #longliveourbuildings #lovethisstuff #lovewhatyoudo #architect #treehouse
