this is my first linocut in like... 10 years? and it was so fun!!!!! i am very enamored with these lil snails 🐌🐌
not pictured: panic! at the art store ab which linoleum block to get, painstakingly re-drawing the original design onto the linoleum and realizing i had no idea how to draw a snail from memory (my brain is like there's a shell and then... squishy stuff? antennae?), losing my carving tool halfway and having to get a new one, all the zoom calls during which i carved or printed (you can hear some of them here lol), linoleum scraps alllll over my bed and desk and living room floor, and nicking myself a lil bit during the carving process 😅 but all very worth it for these snails in love with mushroom umbrellas. 🐌🍄💧 inspired by (and made for) my partner ben and a soft pre-sleep conversation one night. ☁️
