Get to know Jahmil Eady (@jaedirects ) the filmmaker behind HAINT (@haint_thefilm ) , one of the films that will be showcased at File Under Horror at @thefinalgirlbar on Saturday May 2 in Kenosha, WI!
Jahmil Eady is an award-winning writer and director who blends genres with social impact storytelling. She grew up in Charleston, SC and NYC and holds an MFA from UCLA.
Her films have been supported by institutions like, Tribeca and Chanel Through Her Lens, American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women Plus, Princess Grace Foundation, NFMLA NewNarratives, and Bend Basecamp. Jahmil’s most recent short, HAINT, a southern folk horror set in the Gullah Geechee community, was produced in Indeed & Hillman Grad’s Rising Voices Season 5.
HAINT premiered at Tribeca 2025 and is being developed as her debut feature film.

This week, Palm Springs International Film Society brought our Filmmaker in the Classroom program to ten schools across the Coachella Valley, connecting with over 800 students.
